My self-summary
I've been living in SF for three years now after moving from the Midwest, and I love it here. There's still tons I haven't done, but I can tell I'll be here for awhile.

I'm nerdy (the anime, Star Trek, webcomics kind of nerdy), and pretty ridiculous, and pretty okay with that, too. I'm easy-going and generally hard to offend (don't take this as a challenge - I did say hard, not impossible). I get cold easily, tend to say fancy-pants a lot, love bacon, narwhals, and the internet, drink more than I should, and am always, always down to try new things.

I also use waaaaay too many parentheses. Deal with it.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm going to grad school full time - San Jose State University - for my master's in library and information science. Basically, I'm looking to be a librarian.

I also teach people about sex at Good Vibrations. Quit telling that joke about not needing your receipt for the condoms because you won't be returning them. No, really.
I’m really good at
Baking. Sometimes cooking, but mostly baking. And organizing. This is making me sound neurotic.

Also, convincing people to get donuts with me.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably the glasses. Occasionally the crazy nails (not crazy long, like those dudes who never cut them, I just paint them very bright colors).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books are kind of a big deal for me. I tend to be more into sci-fi and fantasy, but I'll pick up anything and give it a shot. Some of the authors nearest and dearest to me are Ursula K. LeGuin, Neil Gaiman, Jane Austen, Robin McKinley, and Patrick Rothfuss. Comfort authors, I would call them - like a good bowl of mac and cheese, not necessarily terribly sophisticated (except LeGuin <3), but lovely nonetheless.

As for music, it's kind of like food - I'll give most anything a try. I love indie rock for sure - stuff like Animal Kingdom, alt-J, Mr. Gnome, Yellow Ostrich, electronica like Big Gigantic, M Machine, Supervision, Pretty Lights, Emancipator, and Michael Menert, some dirty rock like The Black Keys - I'm all over the place, and I love recommendations of new stuff to get into.

I love LOVE food. Love love love. Seriously. I'm always trying out new recipes, and always excited to eat something different. Anthony Bourdain is my hero and old-man crush, however weird that is to say.
The six things I could never do without
Hot tea, my cats, books (millions and millions of them!), my stereo system, tattoos, and my iPhone. These lists are dumb.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How awesome SF is. What to make for dinner. New ridiculous tattoos I'd like to get. If it's okay for me to just keep eating ice cream while I figure out what to make for dinner. Why I don't go put on socks because my feet are cold.
On a typical Friday night I am
Maybe out getting cocktails and dancing like a maniac, maybe bundled in blankets watching terrible terrible TV with cats (and probably whiskey) warming my belly, and maybe working and hating all you drunkies who can only deal with the sight of a dildo by laughing at it. Yes, someone will put that inside of them. It's what they're for. Deal.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm divorced. I was young and dumb and it was awhile ago, but at least it led to me living in SF. That's worth something.

Aaaaand on the lighter side, not only am I going to be a glasses-wearing librarian, I own two cats AND I'm asthmatic. It's embarrassingly nerd-tastic, but I'm exposing all my dark secrets early, you see. Also, I cry in movies, and it embarrasses the crap outta me.

You should message me if
you tip your servers 20% unless service was really bad, you don't mind cats, you can cook, and you don't do that awkward lurk and hip hold behind ladies at concerts.
