I wonder sometimes how the match percentages and "What Sesame Street character are you?" bits measure up against something like E-Harmony's scales of compatibility. There can't be that many long-term studies on Internet dating yet, right? I wonder if there are some unpublished statistics like: "Percentage of E-Harmony matches resulting in a fatality."

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

Graduate Student, working towards PhD in Clinical Psychology. At this very moment I SHOULD be working on my thesis. This is probably not the case. Soon... soon...

I'm really good at Propose an edit

I'm a pretty good photographer. Also, I suppose have some aptitude for academics, since I made it into graduate school. I can cook anything, though I don't really cook for myself. Cooking for one just seems like a waste of time - or good way to expand the waistline. I'm also mediocre at a number of other pursuits. I have a nuanced grasp of procrastination. Sleeping is probably my most finely honed skill.

I'm fairly tall. If I'm in a crowd, that might make me more noticeable. I've also been told I have sonorous voice, but it's possible that person just wanted to work "sonorous" into a conversation.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

(a)I'll read anything, though I have a soft spot for sci-fi sorts of books (Card and the like). I read in spurts. I can buy five books and read them all in a few days, then not read again for a month. More recently, I've read a lot of disposable Sci-Fi pulp fiction.
(b)Generally speaking, I like most movies. Even really bad movies have that train-wreck appeal. I derive pleasure from movies such as: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Donnie Darko, The Princess Bride, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Pan's Labyrinth, and The Star Wars Trilogy. The Dark Knight was the last one I saw in the theatre as of this update... yes, I expressed my individuality by seeing that indie darling.
(c)I like alot of music, but I don't particularly like Rap/Hip-hop, Country, or Trance music (basically: I avoid bling, sawdust, and glow sticks). Some bands: Appleseed Cast, Deathcab for Cutie, Sparta, Pinback, The Decemberists, various 80s bands, etc.
(d)Foods? yes, I eat them. I like Chinese, Italian, Japanese, "American", and some Mexican I guess -- though not necessarily at the same time. Think - Sesame Chicken, Pizza, Anything-Alfredo, Sushi, Tempura, Hamburgers, Quesadillas, and other stuff... I should probably move over to some things less likely to cause me to go into cardiac arrest.
Since I like to cook, this is by no means an exhaustive listing.
