My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Designer of designs. Sophomoric writer. Advocate of thought. Inquisitor in general. Dog-petter. Fan of Adidas tracksuits.
No affiliation to the website (Bold Italic), just enjoying a typography reference.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working as a designer in the tech sphere, teaching, volunteering at a nonprofit, design side projects, organizing my books by the color of their spines, and using Oxford commas.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Everything. Wrangling big spiders. Opening tightly sealed jars. Calculating the tip for a dinner. Being modest.

But seriously ... I'm artistically inclined. I've just learned recently that I'm decent at bar trivia. People tend to ask for my advice. And I usually get asked directions by people on the street. Maybe I look like I know where I'm going.

Loves art, books, design, photography, etc.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile (so I'm told).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books
Finite and Infinite Games, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, Brave New World, Chasing the Perfect, From Bauhaus to Our House, The Giver, Ways of Seeing (and too many design books to name)

TV
I haven't owned a TV in years, but I'll occasionally catch MadMen, Daily Show or Colbert Report, The Family Guy and Parks & Rec. on Hulu (and maybe a hockey game)

Movies
Anything with Bill Murray, most Kubrick or van Sant ... in particular: The Shawshank Redemption, The Bell and the Butterfly, Rushmore, Momento, Dogtooth, La Haine, Moon, Låt den rätte komma in (Let the Right One In), Ghostbusters ... there are many more.

Music
Classic rock, classic rap, 90s R&B, folk, alternative, occasionally classical (Father John Misty, Geographer, The Black Keys, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan, Philip Glass, David Byrne, Talking Heads, Das Racist, Joy Division, Notorious BIG, etc.). I was raised on the Beach Boys, so I have a soft spot for surf rock.

I prefer small/medium-sized music venues vs. enormous festivals or coliseums

Also, very important ... podcasts of 99% Invisible, This American Life, and RadioLab

Food
Just about anything, anytime. I do try to eat healthy, though. The food in San Francisco is great. I love finding new places and old, forgotten spots.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
(excluding the usual friends & family, air, water, etc.)

Toothbrush & floss
Sunshine
Reading material
A sketch book
Post-It notes
Leg room
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Philosophical implications of actions ... whether or not to get a dog ... my next trip (hopefully Iceland!) ... writing or something I'm reading at the moment ...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Anything and nothing. You might find me grabbing drinks with friends, out at a lecture or concert. I could be at the gym or working on a side project if I'm feeling particularly motivated. I'm also equally comfortable relaxing at home with a book or movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Easy-going, funny, adventuresome; well read; you have a passion for (_fill in the blank_); you're healthy without being bland; people consider you trustworthy. Extra points if you possess a dash of creativity and an aesthetic opinion. Major bonus points for being a bibliophile and/or enjoying art/architecture/design/photography ... but those aren't prerequisites.
