I am imperfect, self-sustaining, and a delight.
My Self-Summary
I'm me; I'm hard to describe in a little box, but I will most
certainly try.
For starters, I get easily excited about new things and have a huge
sense of
curiosity. I also like to
read, a lot, but I love to
laugh even more. I love fantastic utilitarian
design and learning new
languages is one of my
many passions, when I have the time. Also, I like
beards. Do you have one? That's hot.
What's even more hot? Intelligence and wit.
Ok, that's all you get for now.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm back in school altering my life course in an architectural
related profession. It's fun times, except for the fact that I
spend most of my days with my computer that I've recently named
'Romeo'. Romeo thinks that I tend to dominate conversations and
that I've become too bossy, as I'm constantly telling him what to
do. He rebels by crashing or refusing to run architectural programs
that I need. Our relationship is currently on the rocks and we've
mutually agreed to see other people.
I’m really good at
...problem solving, fixing things, drawing, languages, reading
maps, coming up with creative solutions, and forgetting names
(three concussions will do that to you), but never faces.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height? I'm tall. I'm also oddly organized, yet messy -- I'm not
really sure how that works.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Movies: Delicatessen, Antonia's Line, Strictly Ballroom, Alice (by
Jan Svankmajer), Full Metal Jacket, C.R.A.Z.Y., La Face Cachée de
la Lune, Fate Ignoranti, Maelstrom ...
Books by Frank Herbert, Zadie Smith, Robertson Davies, bell hooks,
Dostoyevski... this is really a random list. I suppose this really
is a very unsuccessful list of favourites. :S
Music: Joel Plaskett, Luc Doucet, Weakerthans, Taj Mahal, the
Kinks, Rancid, Immaculate Machine, Okkervil River, Sam Cooke, Carla
Bruni, Nina Simone, the smutty Bessie Smith...
Food: I like it fresh and I like to cook from scratch. But then
again, who would really admit to liking their food stale and moldy?
The six things I could never do without
1. Some sort of drawing instrument
2. My toolbox
3. Books/interesting things to read
4. Friends, family and lovers
5. A good set of kitchen knives
6. Trust and Honesty
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The word "Labradoodle". Labrador and Poodle. Really, how odd.
On a typical Friday night I am
atypical.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I once wore my grandmother's swimsuit to go swimming. It had
buttons. Hawt-dang sexy.
Also: I used to live near a desanctified church that was made into
a circus school. I took a trampolining class there for the fun of
it one summer. I was terrible and lacked grace, but the whole act
was breathtaking, but probably not to those who were watching me.
You should message me if
you like sunkissed summer roadtrips and adventures in the North,
but are equally happy with urban adventures.
Or, you just plain want to.
