Just some random thoughts

Sep 4, 2009

Just trying to get to my 75%, but honestly, as an English teacher, making people write is the wrong motivation to post something.

Yes, I am seeing someone, whom I met on this site after a very sudden end to a long-term relationship.  As I say in my profile, we are both "burn victims" with relationship stories between us that would repopulate the declining number of priests and nuns in the world.

I really enjoy reading the posts on OKC, but the negative comments should cease.  Opinions are just that, personal takes on the thoughts presented.  Are people so sensitive these days that they think that every comment is a personal attack?  Do they live in such an insular world that they feel random people are out to get them?  Wow, shocker that they haven't found "the one".

Next thought, pictures:  Looks aren't everything.  Even Cyrano knew that true beauty comes from the stuff our souls are made of, not what others see.  I'm not Brad Pitt, more like Brad's pitbull, but that's the beauty of a site like this, it allows a person to see whatever you want to show them.

This could be a shot of the happiest time in your life, a shining moment, your favorite hold on a cat...whatever.  Unless there is some accident of birth or unfortunate situation (Look at my face) , lets see some actual faces that aren't dark or of your foot.  (My apologies those who really want to see feet).

Finally, (because I need another beer) like I tell my students, use spellcheck and look for grammar usage(to, too, two).  The written word is a reflection of your intelligence and you can actually plan what you want to say.  Take some time and plan your words out for maximum effect.  Everyone makes mistakes and I will surely check this post at least twice.

I wish everyone would go back to their profiles, post, and blogs. If only to make sure what they wrote, which at the least should show their opinions and at most attract a potential person of interest, has proper grammar and is spelled well.

Thank you for reading this.  I am probably never going to post anything ever again (see- "beating a dead horse"), but at least I got to stretch my first amendment rights.  If I've enlightened anyone, bonus.  If you got a chuckle out of the rantings of a man avoiding lousy TV, bonus.  If you looked at your profile, found a few poorly worded phrases, and get a date, name the child after me...  All others who are offended, incensed, or are having a hard time with the larger words, get over it.  Life sucks either get a helmet and play or live with the brain damage.  I'm off like a prom dress in June.

PEACE, LOVE, AND HAPPINESS TO ALL
