My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If someone asked me to describe myself in one sentence, I'd say that I'm a cultured, intelligent person living life to the fullest. I love to laugh, play and have great conversations. As a librarian, I guess that it goes without saying that I love books? Reading great literature of all sorts is one of life's pleasures. History and science are thrilling; there's something exciting about knowing where we come from and about how the world really works. Music is my other passion; I play cello and electric bass, but, above all, I sing. I studied voice for years (only grad school keeps me from continuing to do so), and enjoy performing everything from early music to modern rock. Whether I'm performing or not, I love going to concerts! Regardless of the season, hiking/snowshoeing are wonderful, and I generally enjoy the outdoors. Even reading is better outside! I'm also a lifelong Bills/Sabers/Orange fan.

My major current goal is to travel. Upstate is my home, but I want to see the world. I've been to a fair number of American cities (Philly is my favorite; the Museum of Art is the best I've seen), but I really want to go to Europe. With friends living in Germany, I'm hoping to reach this goal soon.

I care deeply about others, and always seek the best in them. There's nothing better than finding yourself in good company. Be it a good book, a fine wine, an amazing performance, or, best of all, someone you love, the sense of completion that the right company provides is amazing. Call me a gentleman, in that I believe in treating others kindly and in showing my strength through humility. What I'm looking for is a meaningful relationship - no hookups or drama, but something built to last.
