My self-summary
Greetings! I am a brilliant mad scientist seeking a lab assistant to assist me in reshaping the world... except I haven't secured the funding for the lab. Actually, I am a comic book hero looking for a partner in crime... but my mutant powers haven't manifested yet and the doctors tell me more radiation will probably kill me. Aw hell, I just want a partner, a friend, and a lover who wants to fight the good fight, to live a good life, to share the good times and work through the bad.

You might consider me the classic introvert. I work best on a one-on-one or small group basis. I don't care for live music, outdoor sports, or drinking coffee, which practically gives me minority status here in Seattle. I'd rather have food and conversation with interesting and intelligent people, or go browsing for used books.

For work, I write and edit books. I have published two books, and I have a few more roaming around in my head. I love working with the written word, and I feel lucky to have job that I find both challenging and satisfying. I find linguistics, political science, and propaganda fascinating.

I purchased my first home at the beginning of the year, so I've spent a lot of time settling in and sorting things out. I finally get to set up my personal library; I have a lot of books!

I have a keen interest in Freemasonry and its occult offshoots, the OTO and the Golden Dawn. The ideals of truth, strength, beauty, and fraternal love resonate with me. I think a lot about morals and ethics. I feel I can improve the world around me by improving myself, by acting in a responsible and compassionate manner.

I consider myself an eclectic neo-pagan. I believe in some pretty weird shit about how the universe works, such as animism and anontology. I also believe in a truly secular society, so I don't care if you share my beliefs as long as you respect them. I do write books and essays on this subject, so you'll need an open mind to hang out with me.

One of my dates on OK Cupid gave me this dating advice, and I really agree with it:

I want to go out on dates and meet new people. I prefer not to waste time trading carefully-worded emails. Let's go!
What I’m doing with my life
In a nutshell, home improvement and self-improvement. I purchased my first home last December, and I have spent this year working to make the place comfortable and functional. I have spent the last year working through elements of my traumatic past to overcome the things that have kept me from living my life to the fullest. I feel like I have started a new chapter in my life, and now I would like to share it with someone else.

But don't worry--I haven't stopped writing. I have a couple of book projects in the works to keep me occupied, and I have to prepare for the release of the revised version of my second book at the end of the year. I really do enjoy writing and editing books more than I enjoy promoting them...
I’m really good at
Reading, writing, and mathematics. Listening. Thinking, planning, doing. Hypercognition--my blessing and my curse. Sarcastic humor. Problem-solving.
The first things people usually notice about me
My deep, brown eyes. Either that, or my voice. Many people say I have a good "radio voice," deep and resonant.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I own a lot of books, and I've even read some of them! I have around 1200 books in my library, mostly non-fiction, and I finally have enough shelf space to properly organize them. Some of the better books I've read (or reread) so far this year:

Horemheb: The Forgotten Pharaoh--Charlotte Booth
Egyptian Hieroglyphs for Beginners--Bill Manley
Thud--Terry Pratchett
The Apophenion: A Chaos Magick Paradigm--Peter Carroll
The Book of the Law--Aleister Crowley
The Elements of Style--Strunk and White
Solomon's Builders: Freemasons, Founding Fathers and the Secrets of Washington, D.C.--Christopher Hodapp
French Feminism in the 19th Century--Claire Goldberg Moses
Louis Lambert--Honore de Balzac

I love comic book movies! James Bond and other espionage movies also float my boat. No slasher flicks. I have lived without a television for almost a decade, and I still don't miss it.

I enjoy heavy metal, classic rock, and a little blues and funk on the side. Really anything but country and hip-hop. I also have a passion for Italian opera. I like Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Mozart, but no Wagner for me.

Playlist 8-6-13:
Amputechture--The Mars Volta
In Utero--Nirvana
Simply Rat Pack--Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr.
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son--Iron Maiden
Some Enchanted Evening--Blue Oyster Cult
13--Black Sabbath
Brandenburg Concertos 1-4--Bach

I can eat breakfast at any time of the day. I stay away from lactose and seafood--they don't agree with me. I don't like to cook, but I don't mind cleaning up after a good meal.
The six things I could never do without
A, E, I, O, U, and sometimes Y.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
everything. Morals, ethics, theology, spirituality, politics, economics, linguistics, love, truth. How I got to this point in my life, and, more importantly, what I have to do in the future. Anontology. Nineteenth century France.
On a typical Friday night I am
away from the maddening crowds.
