I am Friendly, Flirty, and Inquisitive.
My Self-Summary
I have decided to ask my friends to "Review me" much as the NYTimes
does, since I loathe writing self-summaries. Here are some
samples:
"Unique. Frighteningly Intelligent. Polyglot. Cute. Focused.
("discarding other adjectives such as ... 'driven' and 'My God,
when do you sleep?'")."
"friendly, generous, sarcastic, independent, organized, neatnik,
unique sense of style."
"Utterly confident; utterly appealing. Type A with a sense of
humor. Always up for a good time. Organized. Determined."
So there ya go. Notice the lack of the words Annoying, Psycho, and
Evil. I say I've succeeded as a person. :)
What I’m doing with my life
Working in finance to support my "going out and playing" budget in
NYC before I go back to school for yet another degree in the next
few years. Taking Japanese classes again -I forgot virtually
everything I learned in High School which is sad and I must rectify
this. Traveling the world - I have visited 5 of the 7 continents
(Antarctica can wait, I don't like being cold, but I want to make
it Africa soon), and some friends got me into scuba-diving a few
years ago, so I was on a Caribbean kick for a couple of years
there. Otherwise, I juggle real/volunteer work with hanging
out/chatting with my friends and reading/knitting at home. I also
spend a LOT of time walking around the city and just seeing what
there is to see, and I'm always looking for new friends and people
to meander with. And I cook and bake. I just hate to do dishes. So
if you are willing to wash, I'll feed ya!
I’m really good at
Being a friend. Making people laugh and putting them at ease. I
know when they need a hug, a hand, or a... urm... yeah. *evil
grin*. Most people are glad to have me around. I bake cupcakes. I
have been told I have an amusing giggle (note that I do not giggle
non-stop like a broken children's toy, so it is actually endearing
and not annoying). And I'm generally up for whatever new experience
you need a partner in crime for (note that is an expression - I
won't actually help you commit a crime).
The first things people usually notice about me
The fact that I'm female. And I have it on good authority from
various friends and acquaintances that I have a "rocking ass".
People who approach me from the front probably notice my rack, and
eventually everyone seems to notice my eyes which tells me the men
on the east coast are better trained than we give them credit for.
;)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Oh geez...
Books: there are too many books to list and they depend on my mood,
but suffice to say I will try anything you recommend to me other
than horror which scares the crud out of me. Plus I have decided
that I need to read more "great works of literature" but I refuse
to believe they were all written by people who died before 1900, so
modern lit suggestions are appreciated;
Movies: I like comedies but I am willing to let you guide me since
I am not much of a connoisseur.
Music: I seem to like some of everything in every genre and I have
an Ipod which I ADORE and is filled with completely random stuff. I
love to dance and I want to take ballroom dance lessons in NYC if
anyone out there is interested...
Food: I've eaten some pretty strange things in my life
(caterpillars, shark, emu), but in the end I tend to return to my
comfort foods: mashed potatoes and chocolate. (not together. That's
nasty).
The six things I could never do without
Friends, Cuddling, Good Conversation, Empathy, Learning New Things,
and my Senses including a Sense of Adventure, a sense of wonder,
and a sense of Humor. (I sort of cheated by making the last one a
category. But it's my profile and I can bend the rules if I want
to).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Random stuff. I'm like a ferret with ADD. Seriously. I am curious
about everything, and I love bright and shiny things. (But I can
hold a thought - I just prefer tangents in my conversations).
On a typical Friday night I am
Recovering from work by hanging out with friends n NYC or on a bus
traveling to MA to visit friends there. But once I get to either
destination, I will either go out and party or stay home and chill,
depending on my mood and the opportunities available.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
The IM system hates me. No seriously. I can't send them, I can't
open them, and they invariably end up in my Mailbox a few minutes
later, generally after I've wandered away from the computer or
logged out. So yeah... just know that it's not me - it's the IM
system and it's out to make me look bad.
You should message me if
You think you can hold my attention and make me laugh. You are
looking for more wit and banter in your life. You wonder what a
ferret with ADD is really like in person.
