Hey! My name is Mike, I'm originally from the Boston suburbs, and I
consider myself to be a down to earth, easygoing guy. I graduated
from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton Business School) in
2011 and from Phillips Academy Andover before that. I am currently
in the process of beginning my PhD in Social/Consumer Psychology.
So basically I like to think of myself as a nerd who loves the
world of academia on the one hand, but also a really fun, social,
outgoing and gregarious guy on the other. I am also a giant
goofball. I laugh all the time and try to keep life as light and
fun as possible. I strive to never take myself too seriously and
look to poke fun at myself whenever I can, and I love it when I am
surrounded by people who can do the same.
Probably my single favorite thing to do is travel, and I get antsy
if I have been in one place for too long (over the past few years
after studying abroad in Europe I lived in a variety of places for
work, including Denver, Nashville, New York, Pittsburgh, and now I
am back in my home city of Boston). With traveling comes trying a
wide array of new and exciting things, and I know I would rank very
high on the "openness to experience" quadrant of a personality
And speaking of profilers, I am an ENFP - an "idealist" or
"champion" - for what it's worth!
What I’m doing with my life
Beginning the process of getting a PhD in Social and Consumer
Psychology, so that I can eventually become a professor and consult
firms on effective marketing and persuasion tactics.
I’m really good at
Breaking the ice, cracking people up and making others feel
comfortable. I really enjoy doing whatever I can to make sure that
everyone I am with is having a great time. I also love listening
and getting others to talk about whatever they are truly passionate
about. Yes, Howard Stern is an idol.
The first things people usually notice about me
Either that I am tall (6'3''), or that I am smiling the vast
majority of the time
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies (huge passion of mine): Into The Wild, Sideways, The
Shawshank Redemption, The Social Network, Memento, 12 Angry Men,
Pulp Fiction, City Of God, Gran Torino, The Descendants, The Tree
of Life, Kill Bill, Silver Linings Playbook, The Master, Gravity,
Music: Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Creedence
Clearwater Revival, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jeff Buckley, The
Allman Brothers, Johnny Cash, Zac Brown Band
Shows: Family Guy, South Park, The Office, Modern Family, Dexter,
Mad Men, The Daily Show, 60 Minutes, anything on CNBC
Even though I am not really that into musicals, I think The Book of
Mormon on Broadway is probably the most wonderful work of art I
have ever experienced.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I guess I find myself thinking a lot about life - you know, how we
got here and where we could be going, all that good stuff. I also
love thinking and learning about religions, I find all of them so
interesting. And sort of along the same lines, I am very interested
in the fields of self improvement and, of course, social/positive
psychology. I took a lot of incredible classes at Penn and I love
building on them whenever I have a free moment to read an article
or watch a documentary.
I also love talking and thinking about politics (but don't really
think of myself as overly political).
On a typical Friday night I am
I am most likely hanging with friends, watching a stand up or
improv comedy show, seeing a play, or maybe in watching a good
documentary on Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am really ticklish!
You should message me if
You are close to my age and take care of your body, and you are
smart, witty, and funny. Hopefully, you think we could have some
mind blowing conversations about this crazy thing we call life.
