My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I must be a mermaid. I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living. ~Anais Nin

I'm playful, loving, creative, and I have a quick wit. If given my druthers, I'll choose adventure over tranquility (unfurl the sails!), but now relaxation has a valued place in my life. Everything for me is better with people I love.

I've dodged twisters in Oklahoma, pursued acting in California, conducted brain mapping research in North Carolina, resigned a tenured professorship for love, and here in Boston, I've taught neurology tutorials to medical students for 12 years. Now I'm taking time to do other things, preparing to act again, sing, and I'm volunteering (Disaster Action Team for the Red Cross). This could be a nice time to meet you.

My friends are unique and I delight in their variety. In you, I seek a man who is gentle, non religious and liberal, as it will be comfortable for us to see the world in similar ways. You care for people, those you know and those you don't know, and you love animals. What will we do? I hope you want to travel; there's so much I haven't seen. At home, we'll enjoy doing whatever... doing dishes, the dinner party over and everyone gone. The two of us, laughing at what people said... Just being together.

By far, my favorite places to be are on or in any ocean. Sailing, canoeing, kayaking, sitting on the pier. I wade in the tide, skirt drenched, shoes thrown and, with any luck, my purse is with my shoes.

A few favorites are all the Pinker books, Ella Fitzgerald, NPR, spicy Indian and Thai, Blade Runner, Seinfeld, To Kill a Mockingbird, Yo Yo Ma, Pink Floyd, The Moth, BSO, MFA, all theater, A Prayer for Owen Meany, Jon Stewart, and hot coffee in the morning.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
~ Passion for life and ideas, not things
~ Love and support
~ Spontaneous humor, laughter
~ Empathy and kindness
~ Logic and understanding
~ Optimism and resilience
