What I’m doing with my life
Being scattered and figuring the meaning of it all...also playing
lots of music (myspace.com/eriktyler), sorting out all the maybes,
being more and more fascinated by eyes...reading, writing, talking,
and thinking...alot.
I’m really good at
I'm good at burning myself out. I'm good at entertaining myself
(and often others). I'm good at math/logic (such a nerd). I'm good
at overthinking everything. I'm good at listening, I'm good at
explaining, I'm good at being repetitive and making lists. I'm good
at other stuff too, but I tire of this, so you'll have to find out
the rest yourself.
The first things people usually notice about me
I really have no idea...I'd like to use a street shout-out.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I'll treat this like "Desert Island"
Books: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Wind Up Bird
Chronicles, any Kurt Vonnegut, any David Sedaris, Fierce
Invalids
Music: Bright Eyes, Ryan Adams, Tom Waits, Magnetic Fields,
Okkervil River, Elvis Costello, Wilco, Verse (so I cheated, this
category was hard)
Movies: Something Wes Anderson, Persepolis, Eternal Sunshine, Fight
Club, something Tim Burton (Guilty Pleasure: What Dreams May
Come)
Food: meatless stuff (especially sushi)
The six things I could never do without
Guitar, pen/paper, something/someone to love, earth beneath my
feet, passion, hope (I know these two aren't technically things,
but I don't see why I would live without them).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
everything: underlying structures and mores of a constantly
evolving society and culture (locally to globally and
subculturally), my own desires/motivations/makeup, friends, music,
truth (objective vs. subjective), purpose, to-do lists, etc.
On a typical Friday night I am
What's typical?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm not the ladyklling sort.
