I am loving, this soda can, and wine thing.

My Self-Summary

Hello, my name's Brian. I'm clever, kindhearted and funny. I spend a lot of time mercilessly making fun of people I care about AND being a complete goofball. I have a real appreciation for family, biting wit, puns, imagination, empathy, marine life, and the zoo.

Some other interests are magnets, singing loudly, dancing, children, local farms/food, springtime, green tea, meditating, good public transportation, and tailgating.

Back sweat really annoys me.
almost as much as Ashlee Simpson's new face.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm in my third year of medical school, spending a copious amount of time working in the hospital.

The more important question however, is "What do I want to do with my life?" I have two very strong callings. The first is serving the needy. Call me corny or cheesy, but damnit I love justice. The world often manifests in upsetting ways and I can't help but want to dropkick it in the face into a more fair and caring place. I feel I am best suited to serve through medicine with my capable mind and fantastic bedside manner. I currently can see myself going into infectious disease, pediatrics, or palliative care/hospice. Whichever direction I choose, I do want to take some time off each year to travel to clinics (both foreign and indigenous) and provide the impoverished with free health care.

My second calling is fatherhood. I want to be a part of, and raise a wonderful family. My parents, aunts and uncles sacrificed so much to give me a GREAT childhood There is nothing that could fulfill me more than working to provide a safe, loving, and trusting home for my children to grow up in. (Side note: no worries. I'm not ready for children just yet).

I’m really good at

high fives!, those claw machine games, napping, soccer, racquet sports, making people laugh, being present for others, fantasy football, and apples to apples

The first things people usually notice about me

how personable I am. If not that, it's got to be my fantabulous hair.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Harry Potter, LOTR, Terry Brooks, Life of Pi, Dakota, Thich Nhat Hanh, Jane Eyre, Dan Brown

Movies: Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind, Princess Bride, Amelie, Life Aquatic, Rushmore, Monsters Inc, Totoro, Snakes on a Plane, Love Actually

TV Shows: GLEE, Daily Show/Colbert Report, Planet Earth, Blue Planet, The Office, Sports Center, Sunday Football, and any Phillies game

Commercials: Geico Cavemen, Sonic

Music: Girl Talk, Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, Regina Spektor, The National, Wilco, Phoenix, andddd boybands, Rascal Flatts, and Taylor Swift.

Food: Buffalo Chicken and/or milksteak. I used to be a vegetarian, but my craving for meat has unfortunately annihilated every last ounce of "stop the meat factories will power". I still try to eat as ethically as I can.

The six things I could never do without

food, water, shelter, oxygen, caramelized onions, and DOLPHINS

I spend a lot of time thinking about

my patients, what I'm going to eat next, how much I want to nap, epic daydream adventures, DOLPHINS

On a typical Friday night I am

doing something crazy with friends. I don't go out too frequently, however when I do get out, I really enjoy it. Especially if the night includes Big Buck Hunter, dancing and karaoke.

Other Friday nights when I'm exhausted I just stay in reading a book or watching a movie (OR ANIMAL PLANET). I really appreciate and enjoy solitude.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My three biggest fears are

1) house centipedes. doesn't sound scary? well look up Scutigera coleoptrata on google images. these mothers move at least 3.0 x 10*8 meters per second. and could probably swallow my face in one bite.
2) heights. there's nothing worse that the thought of plummeting to my certain and painful demise from a very very high ledge. or an airplane. UGGH.
3) abandonment. I grew up in a demanding Asian household, so I often felt that my father would leave me because I was inadequate. Not true anymore of course, but there's lingering neuroses.

You should message me if

you want to. I'm a great guy looking for an inspiring and caring woman to spend time with. soooo if you're interested or think we'd make a good match, message me.

especially if you'd consider grabbing some coffee. or tea.

ORRR want to go to the zoo. I'll show you the most egregious spelling mistakes ever.

oh yeah. and it doesn't hurt if you like to cuddle, spoon, and are a silk skinned goddess.
