My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I should probably fill this out, huh? I used to have a profile on here, but it was abandoned a long time ago. I decided to come back to the site, but instead of revamping my old profile, I wanted to just start completely over. So I did.

I'm not too sure how to describe myself. I suppose I'm a bit of a dabbler. I am nerdy enough to play Magic and a few other board and card games, but I'm not deeply into geek culture. I'm a pretty big sports fan, but I don't get into the sports bar/street celebration thing (with one notable exception). I'm a jazz musician, but I don't spend 100% of my time locked in a practice room practicing or writing. I'm kind of...in between.

I'm a sucker for a good tequila. I'm very picky about vegetables, and need encouragement to eat ones I'm not familiar with. I'm somewhat of a nocturnal person, inadvertently staying up well past 2 or 3 in the morning despite making every attempt to maintain a more normal sleeping schedule. I'm generally neat and tidy except when it comes to my bedroom. I wear sandals until there's at least 2 inches of snow on the ground.

All in all, I think I'm a pretty cool dude.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently, I'm teaching Arranging part-time at Berklee College of Music in downtown Boston. I'm working on extending that into a more full-time position, as well as working on the music for a big band CD that I'm writing and arranging.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making friends. Seriously. I just love meeting new people, and I tend to get along with 99% of the people I meet on first meeting. It's pretty cool.

I'm also pretty good at making people laugh.

And music. I'm decent at that.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a rather large beard. I keep it finely groomed. Also, probably 95% of the time I'm out of my house I wear a baseball cap.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: His Dark Materials, Hitchhiker's Guide, The Wheel of Time, anything by Jon Stewart, Sabriel, Timothy Zahn's Star Wars Extended Universe novels. Probably more, but it's 1:30 in the morning and I can't remember everything right now.

Movies: All the President's Men, Blazing Saddles, the View Askewniverse (especially Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), Star Wars, How to Train Your Dragon, Indiana Jones, Inglorious Basterds, Rookie of the Year, Team America: World Police, The Blues Brothers, Zach and Miri Make a Porno. And a lot more.

Shows: The West Wing, 30 Rock, Avatar: the Last Aribender, House, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, The Walking Dead, Daria. Back in the day, Legends of the Hidden Temple.

Music: Oh god, just about everything. Seriously. My playlists include everything from opera to Lady Gaga. I've also been into audiobooks lately. I have a few by George Carlin (the funniest man who ever lived), a couple by Jon Stewart, and a couple by Stephen Hawking. I think I like the Stephen Hawking ones the best -- I may not be smart enough to be a scientist, but the discoveries that they make in physics about the universe still give me chills like when I was a little kid.

Food: I'm not picky. Anything meaty is love.

At work, watching people play games. And playing games at the same time. And getting paid to do it. I love my job.
