My self-summary
Hey, I'm Brandi,
• I recently moved back home to the Seattle area from San Francisco after finishing grad school.
• I'm honest. I know exactly who I am and the person I aspire to become.
• I will always be a city girl. Bright lights, crazy driving and busy, walk-able streets beat the boring suburbs any day.
• I don't particularly like children or want any of my own. So, I'm sorry single dads... I'm sure you're all fantastic men, but I'm probably not the right girl for you.
• I have a (probably unhealthy) co-dependent relationship with my Android phone. And yes, it is better than your iPhone ;)
• I'm a total smartass.
• I love to discuss religion, politics and sex on a first date. It's way more fun to hear what people are really passionate about than the usual boring safe topics.
• I love small, fluffy animals and have a habit of pointing out every time I see a cute dog on the street.
• I can drink like a fish and swear like a sailor (whiskey, bourbon and classy, intelligent ladies who say "fuck" a lot are some of my favorite things in life), but I always know when and how to act like a lady.
• I have an amazing family who love and support me unconditionally.
• I love to dress up, even if it's for no reason. Dresses and back-seam stockings or patterened tights are a staple in my wardrobe. I enjoy keeping up my appearance and always looking well put-together when I go out.
• I love meeting new people. I can work a room like nobody's business.
• I enjoy life and all that it brings.
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated in August from my Master's in Digital Marketing program in San Francisco and moved back home in November basically after running out of money (but I stayed just long enough to watch the Giants win The World Series!!). SF is a beautiful, crazy, amazing, energetic city, but it is not one that you can live in on a post graduate/Starbucks barista income for very long. After doing the obligatory "Millennial kid moves back in with the parents" gig for a while, I just started a super cool new job as a Social Media Coordinator for a snarky-toned environmental news website in downtown Seattle, so I will be staying here for at least another year or so.

I really had my hopes set on moving back to SF, which I still plan to do at some point, but I just realized that the city will always be there and this was just too good of an opportunity to pass up and I am very much looking forward to getting my career back on track after taking time off for school. Also, bonus, I won't ever have to make a damn Frappuccino ever again!

So, all of that, as well as always laughing, playing, eating, drinking, singing, dancing, making jokes, creating, loving and living.
I’m really good at
Talking to people. Fair warning: I can talk. A LOT. I am always the person who's having a random conversation with the stranger in line at the grocery store or bar.

Making people laugh. Although, sometimes I think people may be laughing at me, rather than with me... but hey, they're laughing right?

The puppy dog face. You know the one. The big upturned eyes, the pouty lips, the "pppllleeeeaaassseeee?" look. Yeah... that one :)

Things I'm Not Very Good At:
Cooking. Just to give you an idea... I once burned a Lean Cuisine.

Lying. I have the WORST guilty conscience that never lets me get away with it.

Spatial reasoning. I always made my old roommate rearrange the fridge/freezer for me after I went grocery shopping so everything fits correctly. Consequently, I was never that great at Tetris. Also, packing. Blech.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my blue eyes, smile, or that I usually have a flower in my hair. I'm also kind of loud and easily excitable. I'm definitely more of a stand out in a crowd rather than a blend in quietly type of personality.

Or really, it's more likely that I just tripped over something or fell flat on my face or knocked something over and spilled my drink all over the place. If clumsiness was an Olympic sport, I would definitely take home the gold medal. It's endearing, really... I promise :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: I have a ridiculously diverse music taste. I like everything from Top 40 pop to dubstep to British indie folk to country. Some of my faves are: Jason Webley, Dierks Bentley, Passion Pit, Marcus Foster, Calvin Harris, Bon Iver, Ke$ha, Ray LaMontagne, Miranda Lambert, John Mayer, MGMT, Mumford and Sons, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Skrillex and Jeff Buckley. Told ya it was ridiculous.

Books: Not gonna lie... I did read the 50 Shades of Grey series. When I'm not reading horribly written BDSM-tinged erotic romance novels that are a terrible, if not dangerous representation of functional, loving Dom/sub relationships (/end rant), I enjoy books by Chuck Palahniuk, David Sedaris, Augusten Burroughs and Bret Easton Ellis. I really liked Predictably Irrational and Freakonomics too. It was one of the more interesting books I have read in a long time. I was addicted to the Hunger Games series too. I also love reading classics like Catch-22. One of my favorite books of all time is The Catcher in the Rye. I wish I could have an adventure like Holden Caulfield one day.

Movies: I love comedies. My all time favorite movie is probably Breakfast at Tiffany's. I also like dramas/thrillers and indie movies and even a few rom-coms. Some of my favorite movies are: Anchorman, Fight Club, Love, Actually, Top Gun, Shaun of the Dead, Breakfast Club, The Departed, Zombieland, Kick-Ass, Ten Things I Hate About You and the amazingly sexy and beautifully romantic (if you understand it), Secretary.

TV: With Hulu Plus, Netflix, who needs an actual TV anyway? I do try to catch up online with a few shows like The Walking Dead, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Game of Thrones, The Newsroom, Glee, Community and New Girl.

Food: Pesto! Seriously, cook me anything with pesto in it and I will love you instantly. Follow that up with some crème brûlée and I'm yours forever :)
The six things I could never do without
1. My Droid
2. Caffeine! In all of its glorious forms: coffee, espresso, Red Bull, an IV straight into my veins... ya know, the usual.
3. My crazy, fabulous friends and the unconditional love and support of my amazing family.
4. A new goal to plan for and achieve.
5. A postitive outlook on life. Ain't nobody got time for pessimists.
6. Showers- I absolutely love the fresh feeling of stepping out of the shower all nice and clean and ready to take on the day.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My goals and my next adventure. I am a very goal oriented person and I love the feeling of accomplishing something that I have set out to do. I'm not settling for anything less than everything that I want out of life.

How long it will take me to traverse the city by bus? I ditched my car about two years ago before I moved to SF. I love not having to deal with gas prices as well as being friendlier to the planet, but I do wish public transportation was a bit speedier in this city.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm hoping to update this section with more fun activities soon! I've usually been working at SBux on most Friday nights, but now that I will have a normal M-F, 9-5 job I can once again enjoy all the awesomeness that Seattle has to offer.

I'm not sure what part of the city I will end up in, but when I lived there before, I spent a lot of time out in Cap Hill, Belltown, Fremont/Wallingford and somewhat Pioneer Square. My office will be located on the edge of the Financial District/Pioneer Square, so I see a lot of after work happy hours in my future :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm horribly afraid of failure and place ridiculously high expectations on myself. I am easily my own worst critic.

Also, I have a deeper, more submissive side than my outgoing, vanilla appearance may suggest. I have complete control over my normal life, so I really enjoy giving that power of control over to someone else who knows how to command it properly when needed.
I’m looking for
  • Straight guys only
  • Ages 25–33
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
If you're ambitious, well educated, talkative, have your shit together, funny or up for a good debate over a great brew. Seriously, I can debate anything from the best type of whisk(e)y to the current despicable state of the American political climate. It turns me on when someone can keep me on my toes intellectually, especially if they can make me laugh while doing so, a la Jon Stewart style. Brains + a sense of humor (and a little brawn thrown in there for good measure) = super hot.

You know someone who is looking for a new roommate in Seattle around mid-June/July 1st. I've lived in Fremont/Wallingford, Cap Hill and Green Lake before and am looking in those areas again, but would consider other parts of the city if the roomies and place were cool.

If you have a fluffy pet or want to play me songs on your acoustic guitar. *Swoon.*

Or, if you want to be my otter.

Cheers!
