My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
The online dating thing seems a bit awkward but I feel like I'm really restricting the potential of meeting someone by limiting myself only to the women I can meet in my day-to-day experience. Hence, the okcupid profile; trying to branch out. I am in my final semester as an undergraduate English student at UNCW and will be glad to be moving on to graduate school shortly. I would describe myself as an intellectual. I have many interests: Literature, movies, philosophy, politics, history, and basketball among other things. I have a kind nature and seek to cultivate a sense of peace and passion in life. I have a very intuitive and self-aware nature. These characteristics have served me well in my relationships and in life generally. I am open to new experiences and have a low tolerance for dishonesty, manipulation, and drama. I am super easygoing and don't get along well with people who take themselves too seriously. I am open to meeting people of different personality types but I think I would be most compatible with a woman who is self-aware, an intellectual, and shares a desire for that uncomplicated passion and peace.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I spend some of my time taking care of my grandfather who is very elderly and infirm, while I also finish my undergraduate degree. My intention is to pursue the graduate work necessary to become a counselor, probably a Masters in Social Work, although the prospect of a graduate degree in English is gaining appeal for me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I have a great facility with language. Empathy comes naturally to me; an impulse I must check to keep from overextending myself. I am an exceptionally sensitive person, a quality which has proven to be a double edged sword, often making the good times better and the bad times tougher.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Really couldn't say. Ask people.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Non-duality, politics, females, higher education, self-improvement, my bulging pecs and biceps, the Dow-Jones...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Doing nothing to differentiate it from every other night of the week.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You should message me if you are looking for a drama-free, intelligent person. Also, emotional stability is very important to me; I am a very calm person and find it difficult to tolerate a chronic lack of equanimity in others.
