.) The first time I ever played poker I won almost a thousand dollars; I've avoided playing it since as I'm never going to top that.
.) I prefer cold weather to warm or hot weather.
.) I was born on Staten Island and have lived here for 29 of my 31 years. It kills me that there are so many stereotypes about people from my hometown, but it would kill me a lot more if they weren’t so accurate. That said, I am about as far from the stereotypical Staten Island guy as it is possible to be while still being (A) male and (B) a resident of Staten Island. I don’t lift weights, or have vertical hair (I shave my head), or tribal tattoos (or any tattoos for that matter), and if I ever set foot in a tanning bed I might literally burst into flame.
.) I have a three year old nephew and one year old niece, and am only half-jokingly competing with my brother-in-law’s brother for position of “favorite uncle.”
.) I like to think of myself as a gentleman when I'm with a woman. I try to pull out chairs and hold doors and pick up checks, and walk between her and the street when we're walking on the sidewalk.
.) In the year between my 30th and 31st birthdays, I read 52 books for an average of one book a week.
.) I have only been on three first dates in my entire life. The first one was with a woman who I subsequently dated for four months. The second was with a friend of a friend who I never saw again. The third was with a woman who I subsequently dated for three years and lived with for two, until around a year ago when we parted ways as mutually as possible. In other words, I seriously have no idea what I’m doing here.
