My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I was raised by wolves in the brown, scrubby mountains overlooking Los Angeles... would be a very silly way to introduce myself on an online dating site. But what can we do, that's how it went down. I spent my early years running wild with the pack; greasy and naked and free, team-hunting meals of elk and squirrels (ok fine, mostly squirrels) and drinking from mountain streams and/or the LA river. One night we ate actor Lou Diamond Phillips. That’s why you don’t see him in movies anymore. We also ate the kid from Malcolm in the Middle. (No not that one, the other one.) Then I hit puberty and the wolves banished me. Wolves can be real dicks sometimes. So I learned to speak and type English, made some human friends and found a career I love. Now I basically try to live each day with as much joy as I can. And I’d like to make it clear that I very rarely tilt my head to the moon and hunt and eat B-list celebrities in Griffith Park anymore!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a documentary video editor (who is also able to apply that to jobs that need more of a marketing/commercial slant, because paying bills is important sometimes... I've heard.) I love it all though. I'm also working on becoming a better cameraman and all-around producer. I'm striving for freedom and happiness in life--and work is definitely a major part of that. I like that now I have clients, not a boss! Important distinction I think.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Documentary editing. Also getting along with people; I don't like everyone I meet, but I do tend to understand most people, and if you understand them you can get along with them. (And I'm also pretty darn good at vacuuming ever since I bought a Dyson... I know that's non sequitur but whatever, it's true.)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm a little bit funny-looking and am enthused about whatever I'm talking about. Or that I'm quiet and a really good listener. (Haha, that's good, right? So what happened next? I'd love to hear more about that.)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Not gonna do favorites!! That's too tough. Here are five books I love: Watership Down, Into Thin Air, Born to Run, In a Sunburned Country, Goodnight Moon.

And 5 movies I love: The Princess Bride, Sling Blade, Friday Night Lights (ooh, fun fact about those last two! -- ah, never mind) The Shawshank Redemption, Gattaca.

Five Shows I love: Louie, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Firefly, Sunday Night Football, Sherlock (BBC).

Five Music: Dwight Yoakam, Tom Waits, Lyle Lovett, Lucinda Williams, Bob D.

Food: Thai, Mexican, Burgers with relish, my buddy's baked mac 'n cheese, the first bite of whatever I have when I'm very hungry.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My friends.
Music.
Sunshine.
Hope.
A car.
Sleeping in sometimes.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The lyrics to songs playing in the car while I'm driving... because I'm usually singing along to them. (Loudly! And poorly.) Also the story structure of documentary interviews, obviously. And lastly, since I'm a guy doesn't the research say I think about sex every 45 seconds? But I don't think that's accurate... more like every 55 seconds. Come on researchers, get it right!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Rescuing elderly people and kittens from burning buildings. And/or drinking beer.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I sometimes practice sexy-eyes in the mirror.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You'd like to get to know me better. And if you're a relatively happy person who usually tries to find ways to make life better. Or if you're a little blue from time to time but think that maybe my fun, quirky worldview could swiftly improve your outlook; 'cause it totally can... sometimes.

(Or if you know what I was for Halloween... last pic.)
