My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Brian, I'm a journalist, editor and writer with a deep love of movies and an ever growing love of good music, beer and sports. I'm a smart, funny guy with a lot on my mind, a lot of opinions and a mind to say them, but I'll be sure to listen as much as I tend to talk.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working as an editor and staff writer at an Internet based talk radio show that focuses on business and IT and also freelancing at a pop culture website as a news editor, covering film and TV news. In the mean time I write for my movie blog, I spend a lot of time with family and friends, and I love listening to indie rock, going to concerts and doing things outdoors.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a writer for a living and consider myself pretty good at that. I golf, ski, bike and even kayak, run, swim or hike from time to time. I even dabble playing guitar and piano.

Bonus: I'm good at stupidly dancing, air guitaring and singing at shows.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My interests range far and wide, although I certainly don't pretend to like everything, especially when it comes to pop culture. I enjoy and think about these things too much to just claim I like it all. Here are just a few of my diverse favorites:

Movies: Apocalypse Now, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Psycho, The Princess Bride, Some Like It Hot, Toy Story

Music: The Beatles, U2, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Simon and Garfunkel, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Green Day

TV: The Simpsons, Seinfeld, 30 Rock, Daily Show and Colbert, Parks and Rec, Arrested Development, Boardwalk Empire, Louie, True Detective

Recently read books: Life of Pi, Life Itself, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, 12 Years a Slave, The Wes Anderson Collection

Food: I'm Italian, so I'm all about good food, especially Italian food. But no one in my family is a picky eater. I love seafood, Mexican and good pub food, and I've loved recently trying more Mediterranean and Indian food too.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Oh the usual, family, friends, movies, my phone and my iPod.

My contacts or glasses too. My family has shockingly bad eyesight.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I'm a big movie and music buff, so I spend an awful lot of time obsessing and talking about those. But I absolutely love talking about art and culture and thinking about them intellectually and critically, so hopefully I can meet someone who wants to think about this stuff too.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I love spending an evening with friends at a bar with a good craft brew or Jack and Coke in hand. If I'm not there, I'm at the movie theater or at a concert.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Listening to music in the car by myself, I sing just about all the time. It's embarrassing, but hey, I'm no slouch neither, haha.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I'm looking for someone I can relate to and talk with, someone who is intelligent and funny and everything people usually look for in a partner, but ultimately I want to date someone who will be a friend first, someone who wants to go places, try interesting things and share their opinions.

So I'd love to meet someone who wants to go see obscure films, who wants to go to music festivals and concerts regularly or who wants to golf, ski, bike or do other outdoor activities; basically someone who shares some of my interests.

At the same time I want to discover what you most like to do for fun and do just that. That's what a relationship is in my view, about sharing things and having fun together doing things that interest us both.

So although I don't expect anyone to have identical taste in music as me to me or be as passionate about movies as I am, nor do I define myself by my interests, I'm dedicated to the things I love to do and hope someone else can enjoy them with me. If after reading a bit about myself, message me if you think that's you.
