My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hiya! Born and bred New Yorker, but I've lived all over: grad school in England, several stints across the Middle East, even China for a little while. Before shipping off to law school in California, I worked for the Army in Afghanistan as a social scientist, going into the field and learning about the lives of the Afghan people. It was wild.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just back from five weeks of travel in Bolivia and Argentina - it was amazing! Started a job as a newly minted lawyer and couldn't be more excited.

I'm a bookworm. Here are some of my more recent reads: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The Big Short, SuperFreakonomics, The Catcher in the Rye (which was kind of terrible), Consider the Lobster, Catch-22 (lovelovelove), What The Dog Saw, Coming Apart by Charles Murray, and Why Nations Fail, which was totally fascinating. Even more recently: My Name is Red, Lawrence in Arabia, and Redeployment.

I don't like Hemingway. Or Lolita. Apologies if that's a deal breaker.

I'm really into the Avett Brothers, and have been for years now. Whenever I'm in New York on a Monday or Tueday, I go to a Bluegrass jam in the village and it's pretty much my favorite thing in the city. I badly want to learn the banjo. Also: Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, and Ella Fitzgerald; Led Zeppelin, Creedence Clearwater, and The Doors. Brahms' Trio No. 1 and Rhapsody in Blue. Also, recently discovered Kacey Musgraves, Alabama Shakes, Lake Street Dive, and St. Paul and the Broken Bones. They're real good.

Lawrence of Arabia. Did you have to ask?
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Coffee, bagels, seltzer, kitsch, thick socks, and good company. It's the little luxuries that make all the difference.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My personality stats seem just a little over the top. I'm not romantic? What if I promise to buy you cheese?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
