My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I split my time between Austin and the UK, I just returned having lived in Panama for the last 2 years. I travelled non stop between 19-23, I had a thirst for seeing new places and cultures and meeting new people. During that phase of life I discovered/fell in love with Austin and made a group of amazing friends.

Right now I am rediscovering my love of travel and adventure. I love meeting new people and becoming involved in there passions and interests to further my own. I'm enjoying living a healthier existence!

My main passions : Music, Film, Sports, Awesome cocktails, wine and food. In no particular order of preference.

Things that would have shocked me if you had told me I'd be doing them 5 years ago :-

- Yoga (I'm terrible and like to practice in a room... on my own... But I enjoy it and its beneficial for so many things)

- Love Sushi (I never used to even eat fish then the transition came via Ceviche, mmm ceviche

-Being both British and vertically challenged, playing a lot of basketball and being pretty good at it, lol. It turns out 10 years playing rugby helps with setting bone crunching screens, haha :)

-Running almost obsessively albeit still frustratingly slow. I managed my first half marathon (on my own on a training run) in July and hope to do it officially with the Austin half in Feb.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to be as happy and healthy as possible! While also drinking great wine and eating delicious food, its a balance!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Bringing people together.
Realising my place in a kitchen is very much to do as I'm told and listen to the skilled chef :)
Going on adventures at the drop of a hat.
Procrastinating while watching the wire, again.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
In Austin its pretty much always my accent, but I guess that was a given. Outside of that though its that I'm normally laughing and having fun. Sometimes a little bit too much fun :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Music : Everything from sufjan stevens/Gregory Isakov/Josh Ritter through to Tool. I love music. Pretty much all but pop :)

TV : The Wire, Justified, firefly, its always sunny, deadwood - ok this list could go on forever in this age of ridiculously good tv :)

Movies : Anything by the Coen brothers with the exception of intolerable cruelty. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind + nearly every Kaufman movie. Star wars, it was the first time my mind got blown as a child. Again a list that could go on for days :)

Books : I tend to love to go off into weird fantasy worlds so the Song of Ice and fire series (game of thrones).

Terry Pratchett, his discworld series is I guess a very british thing, its very much like the Monty python crew had Douglas Adams baby and it decided to write satirical yet sometimes moving stories set in a fake flat world that rides around the universe on the back of a giant turtle supported by 4 giant elephants. Yes, really.

Then I love to read Non-fiction books. Malcolm gladwell type stuff. Basically anyone who can present a subject matter I have very little understanding off in a way that allows me to be both interested and learn. On an unrelated note the same reason I LOVE the podcast Radiolab. The main thing I do not make enough time for is reading, must do better on that.

Podcasts - I listen to Radiolab, Thisamericanlife and Planetmoney regularly and love them all. Thank god for NPR when i spend such large amounts of time working at my laptop.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Great wine
Even better food
Friends and great banter
Sports, playing and watching
Great Film and TV
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Thing's I should be doing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
In a bar somewhere having just finished a delicious meal. Probably with a girly cocktail that no rugby player should ever be seen with :)
