My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
A playful soul with a curious mind and an eye for the unconventional. I love my friendships, nature and the arts, freedom and adventure.
Sensitive, subversive, outspoken but not loud. A liberal lefty and a bit of an activist. Slightly eccentric and should probably have run away with the circus long ago.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For the last couple of years I've been working for myself, which I love. I'm a freelance writer and sub-editor and I do a bit of design too. Plus I volunteer with some youth charities and am attempting to expand my skills into video making if I can get past my technophobia.

My next venture is learning to sew, burying myself in wondrous fabrics and stitching up a storm. I want to make stuff to adorn my home and myself and maybe sell some beautiful things on a market stall.

Out of work I make up tunes on my guitar, do yoga and meditate often. I'm on a bit of a spiritual journey and exploring consciousness and the esoteric. I also draw, paint and write poetry and still like to go out and party sometimes - but I'd love to find a playmate :-)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

Not making plans
Random food combinations
Being approximately 10 minutes late
Reading upside down and over shoulders
Being outside or in water
Slumming it
The first things people usually notice about me

Funk, Ninja Tune, psytrance, breakbeat, hip hop, Motown, soul, folk, old blues (Robert Johnson etc), afrobeat and african funk.
Oh and good DISCO. I'm into dreamy, psychedelic, rocky, folky stuff as well as instrumental, minimal techno and Shamanic drumming. I'm on a constant quest to find new music out of the mainstream and spend my working days plugged into Mixcloud. Other than this the kind of known artists I like are 1970s Fleetwood Mac (mild obsession currently in progress), PJ Harvey, Kate Bush, Bat For Lashes, Janis Joplin (I find talented female singer songwriters very inspiring). Pixies, The Cure, Mazzy Star, early REM, White Stripes, Black Keys, Foals, The Kills, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Warpaint, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Doors. Nina Simone, Etta James.

Massive Attack, Orbital, Tricky etc.

And absolutely loads of other stuff.

Now reading: Anna Karenina, The Power of Now, some Neitszche and the memoirs of the founder of the Black Panthers.

Films: Foreign arthousey stuff. I'm a member of a small private cinema so I go there quite a bit. Recently watched Wadja and Stories We Tell - both excellent. I also like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Cinema Paradiso, Amores Perros, Rabbit Proof Fence, Mike Leigh, Wes Anderson, Woody Allen, Almodovar, Bigas Luna, Beasts of the Southern Wilds, The Castle, Little Miss Sunsine, Walk the Line, Shame.

TV: I avoid it except for Charlie Brooker, Peep Show, Spaced, the Inbetweeners, Buzzcocks, Flight of the Conchords and documentaries. I'm getting through a lot of docs on YouTube at the moment about quantum physics, consciousness and sacred geometry.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My hats & scarves, imagination, my bike, guitar, music, a pen.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Staying in the moment, what I will have for my next meal, whether we all exist in a parallel realm somewhere and how to make my ideas come to reality.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Faffing about in my boudoir or out catching up with mates.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I used to fancy Dogtanian when I was a little thing. It must have been the floppy ears.
