I've had a fairly severe mermaid fetish (as in an arousal stemming from rather than the strick definition of requiring an object yadda yadda yadda) that I believe started either from the little mermaid or a crappy BBC version of Jason and the Argonauts that had the Sirens dressed up as fairly standard mermaids. Though that's sort of just putting the blame elsewhere for my finding something appealing...
