Most importantly unpretentious, balanced, romantic and playful...but if you must know, I'm also intelligent, accomplished, funny and creative. I care more about the attitude one takes in doing things than what one does...ya know? I love my dogs, all animals, music and I'm am quite a good cook...but still, it's mostly in the way we make it all flow. I'm looking to share lives that overlap...compliment nicely... without having to be the same person. I'm hoping to laugh our way through the lighter things and support each other through inevitable challenges.

I have been a helpless romantic most of my life...spontaneous, thoughtful, generous and attentive. The awkwardness of these meetings gets very, very old...and so, I would hope to get past that stage to a natural, honest and relaxed connection. I'm worth it. So are you....

If we can get beyond the first, awkward emails of hello, you will find that I am interested, interesting, a good listener, and have a voracious sense of humor. It is just so difficult to not be trite and to sound pretentious in just a few short words....

If we can get beyond a period of correspondence...questions, answers, replies, and harmless flirtations, you will find that I can actually talk...speak in complete sentences, use good grammar, and might possibly make you want to know more...even laugh more than you expected....that I have a nice voice.....

If we can get beyond the written word, you might find that I am good company at lunch or dinner...that we could talk for hours...and that I will happily buy your meal on our second date....that I am romantic and respectfully flirtatious...and that my eyes will meet yours as we talk together...

If we can get to a second or third date...and if you wish...you will find that I am (told anyway) a very good kisser, have a youthful spirit, healthy desires, and very good taste in people, music, food, arts, and life...

If we were to possibly begin a relationship, you would discover many things and facets about me...that I like to dance in uncommon situations, that I am romantic and thoughtful, that I will remember your favorite flower, whether you like light or dark chocolate, red or white wine....that I am a generous person, partner, and lover...considerate of your time, your family, your friends, your needs...

You will know that, while I am accomplished and smart, I am above all unpretentiousand will take you far more seriously than I do myself...that my emotions and senses run deeply...but that I enjoy a simple life...simple love.

You are the same...if we can get past these stages and the flaws that will inevitably surface...you are honest, you are funny, you are smart, you are simple, you are unpretentious, you are real.

And I hope that we enjoy sitting across a table and what we see in each other...until we get up and walk away holding hands without effort....

While I like to say I'm in the twilight of my professional resume, I'm not done with living...or working for that matter. It's just I've managed to integrate life and work to the point where it all flows nicely. I am well educated, I have a steady practice, I write, I teach, I talk and I listen....just not out to impress anyone with credentials. They do not define me....

My dreams....visiting Italy, returning to Ireland, the Outer Banks... building a house hopefully near or on water...and I'm here right now...so I must be hoping for lightning to strike...one more time.

My profession, writing, talking, listening, understanding, "getting it" and "getting you", guitar, cooking, playing and loving. And my dogs... they are polite, smart, well trained and great company.

I suppose my stature, my sense of humor, what's been described as charisma, and my simple humility. Some people like my eyes, my hands....I know how to reach people and how to allow them to reach me.

So many movies...Magnolia, Fargo, Moulin Rouge, A Few Good Men, O Brother, Lady and the Tramp...favorite author has been Steinbeck and occasional fiction...humor or suspence...interesting acoustic, textured music which includes classical and voice...lyrics touch me...so does harmony...I adore Italian and Southwestern food...grilled fish and fab homefries....a great pizza...Oh yeah...should mention wine here, huh?

If alone? I'm making dinner after walking my dogs and getting ready to maybe watch a film. If with treasured company, I'm doing all of the above but with juuuuust a bit more fun...touching and looking into each other's eyes throughout the evening.

Here? Now? I guess that, although I'm funny and I teach and all that, I'm essentially shy...small talk can be so tedious...I'll be much better when we can be ourselves.

You're attractive, embrace your femininity, smart, playful, educated, love dogs and want a lasting, playful, romantic encounter. I might add that you are honest....can't tell you how many times....many...that a connection has been untruthful about here age, her weight and other things. I'm sure that's not you..... ;-)

When I say I'm Baptist, don't imagine a fundamentalist bible thumper. It's how I was raised and I am inspired by a hopeful, loving message. I would prefer you be spiritual in some way and consider things to be much greater than Earthly existence.
