- YUNG DUMB HALLOWEEN BASH TONIGHT -

Newly updated profile; I have been out of this single racket for quite some time, so, I might miss some things along the way. I'm an open book so feel free to ask any questions you might have, I'd love to share. That's kinda how I do.

The big things are I like to cook, hike, and explore the city. I'm an addict for novelty, so I try and mix things up as much as possible. I'm originally from Newfoundland, but I have lived all over the country.

Here is home now, and I sling espresso all day long. It's a pretty good time.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Lovin' it. (everything else below is changed, enjoy)

I am currently a barista and writer who occasionally published with the Independent. I write mostly on politics; I tend to focus on environmental and economic issues, along with LBTGQ rights and where they intersect with religion. Totally, unreasonably, painfully heavy - I know. But that's just a small part of my life!

I hike a couple times a week and run a couple times a day. I try to do yoga after my hikes, and I love love love love to cook. I had been a vegan for close to a year, but I'm starting to get some more meats back into my diet now. Red meat I don't think will make the cut (zing) but salmon and I are tight. Mango and lime chutney in an oven baked pacific? Smoked salmon on George Town Bagels? Love love love.

I'm a huge animal lover and had a couple dogs until recently, and I miss them very much. I'm totally one of those people who will talk to a pet more than the owner if I cross paths walking with them... I say this as if I know there are other people like that out there. I digress.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

Baking (ish)

Listening (surprise ending?)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
You would have to ask them, but I certainly go out of my way to be noticed. Strangers are some of my favorite people, and I'll probably notice you first. I talk a lot though, with lots of hand gestures, so that would likely do it. And I don't mind dancing before everyone else, so, that too.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books; asoiaf

Movies; Up, and fuck all the other movies

Shows; Derek, Twin Peaks, Samurai Jack, The Office, OITNB... I'm basically a Netflix zealot I guess? That's the vast majority of my pop-culture consumption, given I do not own a TV.

Music; locally my favorite act is the rare and elusive Burning Hell, but when they aren't in town I try and find some adorable/creepy/fun folky acts to fill the void.

Food: OH SWEET JESUS.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Stable internet connection - I read a lot of news, all of the time. I try not to read just right/left/mainstream/radical sources so I spend a lot of time balancing. And on reddit.com/r/worldnews. That's good stuff right there.

Chocolate - I have a growing soft spot for dark chocolate. I'm not motivated by brands or fair-tradeness, sorry, but deliciousness. Cheese cake was a close second, but, as a daily thing chocolate is really more importantly.

Human connection - if I don't see people for awhile I just go MAD. I need to talk talk talk talk talk, and I'd like to do that with you. And dance. And... fist punch. Gotta punch fists.

Spicy Thai sauce - Seriously.

Live music - I love to dance, and I love to see artists giving their all. I don't have a musical bone in my body, but I can find a beat and love to give back when an artist is really giving it.

Adventure
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future, space, god, truth, love, beauty, kindness, sadness, Calvin and Hobbes, climbing trees, cooking, art, science, mantis shrimp, evolution and what ever reddit tells me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I generally work Friday evenings, so I find myself with lots of free soup and coffee. It is a most awesome new ritual where I get to shower the citizens of Dt. St John's with the lovely offerings of the day. Then buddies, maybe a park beer, and music.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have very little boundaries on what I am willing to admit, or what I think should be hidden. I could talk lots about what privacy should mean or could mean...

So I'ma cop out and just say that I'll answer what ever question you ask me.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want to explore the town, explore someones body, explore a new relationship, or generally feel comfortable with life being an expedition in what ever form you try and make it.

I do have casual sex listed, but that I think it more so a blunt truth rather than a real plan. I love the idea of having a partner, but I get it that sometimes that partnership will be fleeting, and that two people can share a lot even in a night. Don't judge!
