Imagine hiking up the cliffs of a remote mountain trail and finding a dive bar that makes a perfect negroni. There I am, reading Nietzsche and letting you take over the jukebox.

I am occasionally eloquent, often brash, generally curious about almost everything.

A hike in the wilderness, a bike ride around town, a beer and a game, a shot and a dirty joke, or a long conversation about life, love and the meaning of it all... Just a few ways I like to have a couple laughs and maybe learn something from someone new.

A good day for me includes both a hard workout in the afternoon and an indulgent evening of dinner and drinks. This approach is evident in my travel plans for the next few months, which include a few days in the highlands of Jalisco to see where the magic happens, a few days surfing and lounging on the beach, and an ascent of the highest mountain in the lower 48.

I make things that make people smile.

Staying calm amid chaos. Boiling things down to their essence. I recently uttered a quip that made a coworker laugh so hard he fell down a flight of stairs.
