I am creative, quirky, and sardonic.
My Self-Summary
I enjoy
reading,
watching
movies,
oil
painting,
writing,
NPR,
watching public
television (especially
the News Hour with Jim
Lehrer),
running,
exercising, and discovering new
places in and around the city.
I grew up in Upstate NY (in the country-side), went to college on
Long Island and moved to Boston after graduating. I've been living
here for over 2 years.
I'm looking to date and hang out with somebody, no one night
stands. And after thinking about, I'd say what I'm looking for, at
least for now, lies somewhere between friends-with-benefits and a
long-term relationship on the relationship spectrum (depending upon
the person of course). I'm not entirely sure about online dating
but a close friend of mine met his wife online and they are one of
the happiest couples I've ever known.
What I’m doing with my life
Researching graduate schools for architecture, building my
portfolio and writing short stories and a novel or two. Maybe
they'll get published, maybe not. Also, questioning if I really
want to do architecture or if I should pursue another interest such
as computer science, creative writing, or science.
I’m really good at
...
drawing and painting,
making things with my hands,
running,
cooking, making
cookies,
writing.
The first things people usually notice about me
...are probably my cheekbones and/or my "big blue eyes"... maybe my
butt? These are things that have been told to me... who knows what
everybody else is thinkin'.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I saw this on somebody else's profile and thought it apt:
Judging somebody by what they've read, listen to, eat and watch
isn't the best way to determine if that person is a match or not.
Personality is the key and should not be overlooked because
somebody did or did not happen to read the same book. Maybe they
just haven't been introduced to it, eh? That being said, here's
what I've been introduced to:
Book-wise I like stuff like Max Gladwell (The Tipping Point,
Outliers). I'm also a big fan of Stephen King (earlier works),
Terry Pratchett, the Harry Potter series, Roald Dahl's adult
fiction, John Grisham, and have a few online comics that I think
are really cool. I recently finished reading Dune and have a list
of books to read but it's growing faster than I'm reading
them.
I really like sushi! Indian food, and ice cream (fro-yo because
it's healthier). But really, I'll eat just about anything, from
Ramen noodles to a well cooked steak, though I tend to avoid red
meat (healthier).
All kinds of movies, though sci-fi, action, and dramas are my
favorites. Boondock Saints, Frailty, Unbreakable, Fifth Element,
Spaghetti Westerns, Amelie, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and a bunch
more that I can't think of. I also like to watch documentaries,
Star Trek: TNG, Arrested Development, Dexter, and Family Guy.
And my musical taste is kind of all over the place. I like Philip
Glass, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, anything spacey/techno, as well as
some, but not all, pop music like Justine Timberlake and Beyonce.
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order:
1) Friends
2) Movies
3) The internet
4) My comfy bed
5) Books
6) Smiles
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Stories. My mind is very fertile and stories pop up all the time. I
spend a lot of time day dreaming and adding to the stories.
Hypotheses, in a different world I am a scientist.
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no typical Friday night. Usually it is one or several of
the following: hanging out with my roommates (mixed sexed) while
having a drink or two on our back porch, over at a friends house,
watching Netflix, out at a dive bar, or reading.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Once in middle school I locked myself out of the building at school
while getting a beaker full of snow for science class. This was in
upstate NY so there was quite a bit of snow on the ground.
Eventually somebody let me in... and I was pretty embarrassed.
You should message me if
You want to hang out with someone fun.
