My self-summary
I am a Portlander born and raised and living elsewhere for a few years has only reminded me how much I love my city! I'm a tall thin fellow who likes to takes things easy. My friends and my family (blood and otherwise) are extremely important to me and I focus on them a great deal.

I geek/nerd out about all kinds of things, ranging from History (my major) and animals to Star Wars and Military Fiction novels. I love being exposed to new concepts and philosophizing the night away. I LOVE finding and making connections between different areas of my life, whether they're important or not. Yes, I will draw wisdom about my personal life from The Civil War, it's worked before!

I'm a bit of geek. I read lots of fantasy and sci-fi, play some video games, play lots of boardgames. I love Star Trek and Star Wars (Seriously, ask me anything about Star Wars). I'm a big Roleplayer, and play lots of RP systems. DnD, white wolf, Gurps, Deadlands, Dark Heresy, and several people's personal adaptations. Read: Total Nerd.

I'm also a big animal fan. I volunteered at the Zoo for 4-5 years. I handle Ferrets, snakes, lizards, opossums, all kinds of mammals and reptiles. I also learned Raptor handling. Having a hawk, falcon, or owl on your hand is one of the most amazing feelings. They're such beautiful and powerful creatures, yet you're responsible for their well-being (and honestly, they're kind of dumb. Don't Believe the Owl's Propaganda machine!).

I love to dance, sometimes clubs, sometimes Celie (I'm not very good but it's fun!) , always Swing or Blues. Honestly, I love almost any kind of dancing. I love to try out new places and kinds of dance, so if you know good/fun clubs, I'd love hear about them.

I am polyamorous at heart, whether or not I'm with anyone(s) at a given time. I enjoy the poly lifestyle and it's place in my life. I'm big on communication, and this is one more place where I don't believe in too much of something. These days I'm one of the organizers for a open-relationship meet-up group and as such am heavily involved in the non-monogamy community. I'm happy to explain what that means, so just ask!
What I’m doing with my life
Wow I have forgotten to update this section in a while. I'm currently living with two of my best friends in the world and working to get by. I am seeing a wonderful woman who I adore and love very deeply. Taking care of friends and business, putting everything in life together. Since most of my old friends have spread out to to other areas I'm looking to meet new people and grow new relationships.
I’m really good at
I focus on my people. I listen to them, I joke with them, I help them. I advise, and care, and love. That's really what I do well.

Cuddling and Hugs. I'm very kinesthetic, and I love to snuggle up to people or just give them big squeezes!

For Activities: Reading (I read a LOT of books....), Enjoying History, and Mock Sword Combat (i.e. Boffering)!!!

Oh, I also Capitalize somewhat oddly. It comes from Reading the Constitution Too many times. That shit is Ridiculous
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm tall, and I'm thin. Other than that....mostly depends on how I meet them. If I'm already with friends, people tend to think I'm silly and energetic. I've recently been informed by, well, Everybody, that I come across as flirtatious all of the time whether I mean to or not.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A lot, in all Categories. For books I'll list authors: Tamora Pierce, Jim Butcher, David Drake, David Weber, John Ringo, Jacqueline Carey, Neil Gaiman, Mercedes Lackey, Terry Pratchett, Aaron Allston, Michael A. Stackpole, Timothy Zahn, Robert Heinlein, Fareed Zakaria, and many more.

I don't watch a lot of TV, but some I really enjoy are the Star Trek Series, Leverage, How I Met Your Mother, Bones, Nero Wolfe, Trigun, Sports Night, The West Wing, and Firefly.

As for movies I like....Serenity, Man On Fire, Boondocks Saints, When Harry Met Sally, The Last Samurai, and we'll end the list with The Star Wars Trilogy (both, but I do prefer the Original Trilogy)

I can't imagine listing all the food I love, because I REALLY love food. Curries are probably my favorite single dish, but Thai, Indian, good burritos, Steak, Burgers, Alfredo, Raspberry Jam....I love food a LOT.
The six things I could never do without
My People.
My Animals.
Many, Many, Books.
Tasty Food. It keeps me sane...ish.
My Brain. Not in "duh, you'd be dead" way. More regarding the fact I like to think to keep myself occupied.
Physical touch. I'm really dependent on touching people. And being touched. I LOVE contact and need plenty of it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
History and all the things which interact with it (Politics, religion, anthropology, war).

People. I'm very big on relationships and interactions. Tracing people's thoughts, figuring out what makes each of us 'tick.'

My various game-related activities, whichsoever they may be at the time. This ranges from playing computer games and plotting how I will conquer someone in Civilization, to building a world from which to run my next RPG sessions.
On a typical Friday night I am
In an idyllic world, I'd alternate between going out dancing con mis amigos, or chilling into the wee hours of the morning playing board games or waxing philosophical. The reality is me working towards this goal a bit at a time each weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I frequently find myself singing made-up songs that are so strange and nonsensical that they weird ME out.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–30
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You'd be interested in hanging out, or chatting. I like to talk and discuss things, and have a very open policy about answering questions. It's probably a good thing for this site since there are so many to answer.

I've learned that I am disinclined to respond to one-sentence messages like "yo" or "how are you." I don't need a state of the union, but some indication you read my profile or a question I can respond to would be appreciated.

Write me if you are poly, poly friendly or curious, as I like to talk shop and introduce people to other poly sources.
