I studied economics and the classics in school. I've lived abroad and I travel often both internationally and domestically. I love ideas and stories, and I hate being bored (an addendum on this later). I seek out the numinous and transcendent, but have very little patience for people who peddle enlightenment.
I’m probably looking for different work or to apply to grad school in the near future. I like what I do, but I’ve realized that it’s not what I want to do forever, and I’m interested to see what else there is to do on this pale blue dot.
• Suspending my disbelief for a good film
• Creating financial models to make complicated problems simple
• You know, like, talking about stuff and shit
• Film, literature, music, and like, art
• Awestruck wonderment
• The freedom to think for myself (upon which all other freedoms are predicated)
• New ideas
• Self sufficiency
Boredom – an addendum (or things I could usually do without):
I hate being bored (as should everyone). Different things are interesting to different people, which is great and all, but here are some things that are not, like, super interesting to me: Shitty TV, watching a lot of sports, doing something twice, etc etc. It’s not that I won’t do these things, but like I said, I'm just not, like, super into them.
What I typically do on Fridays is go somewhere comfortable and pleasant with friends and talk about interesting things whilst drinking moderately. It’s very nice to meet new people on these occasions. Sometimes, I’ll watch a film (often dark and/or brooding) after I get home.
All this to say that I’m all about really crazy adventure, but it’s not an every Friday after work sort of thing.
