I am curly, clumsy, and queer.
My Self-Summary
i get overwhelmed by trying to describe myself in a neat little
summary! friends and community are important to me. i am sometimes
femme-y (think curve-hugging clothes and pretty hair, not high
heels and pink), and sometimes more soft butch or butch wannabe. i
have a nice ass and depending on who you ask, i am a little chubby
(and happy that way). i am proud of my biking quads and wish my arm
muscles were as nice. i'm involved with health care justice
movements (medicare for all).
What I’m doing with my life
i want to be a nurse practitioner, am applying to schools now. i
also see staying involved with community and social justice work as
part of "what i'm doing with my life" and what i hope to be doing
in the future - whether that is working with a formal activist
group or reading and discussing stuff or just cooking good dinners
with friends. currently piecing together part time jobs (no fun),
health care organizing, taking 1 class (prereq for school).
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My music tastes are pretty eclectic. Lucinda Williams, Orishas,
Chris Pureka, Gillian Welch, Dixie Chicks, Manu Chao, Lauryn Hill,
Dresden Dolls, The Gossip, Bruce Springsteen, Fiona Apple, Kanye
West, Nelly Furtado, Britney Spears (yep I'm not gonna lie I
definitely enjoy a good Britney and/or Justin dance party in my
pjs, solo or with a friend). And lots more.
Books... I often start books but don't often finish them because I
am a slow reader and/or I get distracted and pick up another book.
I also spend plenty of time reading other stuff, like blogs (often
queer, disability, or fat positive stuff) or articles online, short
stories, etc. I've been reading 2 collections of essays that I
like, "Nobody Passes" and "Yes Means Yes."
The six things I could never do without
chocolate, water (not just as in a biological survival need, i like
it and am always thirsty), insulin, friends, thunderstorms,
exercise (broadly defined... biking, walking, dancing etc. not
being holed up in a gym!)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am late a lot. And that I'm wary of putting too many things on an
online profile because someone might judge me wrong!
You should message me if
You are a queer guy (or a fairly butch/masculine
woman/genderqueer). You understand that gender is fluid and could
be attracted to someone both as a hot woman and as a more masculine
person. If someone not being skinny is a good or neutral thing to
you.
You are nice, and not pretentious about art or being a vegan.
