My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be Quincy--the gruff but lovable forensic pathologist on 70s TV. I grew up to be lovable but lacked the accompanying gruff personality quirks. So, I found myself in the creative and marketing world. Funny how many gruff, but maybe not quite as lovable folks are in that industry, too.

Things I like: pointless conversations, trivia quizzes (though worryingly I only seem to good at the 1980s pop-culture questions), a good IPA on a sunny porch or at The Red Hot, Archer, Game of Thrones, good coffee. I like to go to Bluebeard or Satellite.

Things I don’t like: arrogance, bell peppers, boaters that kick up a huge wake in the marina, Harley culture. It's fine if you ride (though I prefer a zippy cafe racer), but I think wallpapering the house with the HD logo is a bit over the top.

So, who would I like to meet? I'd like to meet someone that would like to go on random road trips, mostly defined by how weird the roadside attractions are. Someone who could see a rainy afternoon perusing Powell's books as a sort of sport; or who would come back from a camping trip to the ocean with shoes full of sand and a new desire to try and learn how to kite-surf. Mostly though, someone with a little twinkle in his eye, who says Please and Thank You to the waitstaff, and maybe a little tiny devil on this shoulder will get my attention.

So- If none of that has scared you off yet: "Hello!!"
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I love to see what there is to see, near or far. I have a huge To-Go list, and need to make opportunities to start crossing some items off the list. I do take kiddo out on nearby adventures, too. I've recently started working on a blog about it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Keeping a smile on my face while the shit hits the fan behind me.

Making you laugh.

Not necessarily in that order.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a distinctive laugh. People often hear me before they see me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I kind of range everywhere from Dorothy L Sayers to Ian Fleming. I do have a bit of a Bond thing. Well, a LOT of a Bond thing, I have a bunch of vintage Ian Fleming books. I also like Raymond Chandler, Malcom Gladwell, PG Wodehouse and Elmore Leonard.

Music - The Pixies, The Avett Brothers, Thievery Corporation, The Xx, Silversun Pickups, Nada Surf, Washed Out, Kurt Vile, Okkervill River, The The, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Caspar Babypants (if you're at all cool & have a young kid(s), you'll know him)... And, gobs more. I won't bother with the rest, you get the picture.

I watch Modern Family, BBC America's Top Gear (UK version, NOT the US version!), Doctor Who, BritComs. I'm trying to cut cable & rely on Netflix/Hulu/Amazon, but haven't completely made the switch yet.

I'm kind of picky with my movie choices. Movies I do like include Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, The Hangover, Amelie, the Thin Man series (actually, most movies pre-Hays Code), Repo Man. I love Kung Fu and cheezy SciFi B-movies, too, even Sharknado.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Warning, this may get corny and is not in order of importance:
• My morning coffee (wish I wasn't too clutzy for a Chemex)
• Chocolate (but not the super dark kind)
• The water (Could never live in a place where I couldn't see it almost every day)
• My daughter (obvs)
• Smiling. (Smiling's my favorite.)
• Fresh apricots or raspberries (they have to be almost squishy)

And is it just me, or does a list of 6 seem kind of random? Why not 5, or bump up to Top Ten?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Just little things, like Life, the Universe and Everything. You know, like you do.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Friday nights are usually home with my daughter. When I can get out for an evening, I like to hang out with friends and see where the night takes me. These days, I keep things a little more low-key. I like drinks at Hilltop Kitchen, beers at The Parkway; or bumming around Seattle checking out the SLUT. Ha. Still makes me laugh every time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
If I told ya, then I'd have to kill ya. That's way more mess than I'm willing to deal with. But, if I have to divulge something, then it would be that I like drinking wine out of jam jars.

You're sad they painted over the Grafitti Garage downtown. Want to find a Beautiful Angle poster one of these days (or can tell me where I can find one!) Can show me some quirky spot in Tacoma that I didn't already know about. Or, just if the mood takes you!
