My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My marriage has been non-monogamous just over a year and it's working well for both of us. I have great kids and a rock-star wife, so I'm not looking to change my family's situation, not looking for a new life partner. I am excited to meet new people, explore new areas of our city, find mutual interests, and see what happens :-)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm helping with boots and mittens, driving to swim practice, and dancing in the kitchen to Ingrid Michaelson. I'm also exploring fiction writing and songwriting ... mostly right now songs and stories about mittens and the Front Crawl. But with other influences in my life, who knows.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Finding the thumb-hole; zipping a moving object.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When someone new comes to the door they would first notice that I smile a lot. Apparently this is not creepy. Also, I get people talking about themselves, not just because it fuels their ego, but because I am genuinely interested in almost everybody I meet. Hopefully people don't notice the mysterious object in my left hand which recently emerged from a dog or a child and now, wrapped in tissue, must be discreetly and odourlessly transported to the outside compost as soon as possible.

An adorable person on this site recently said:

"I read books, you read books; who says we have to read the same damn books?!" If that was you, EMPTY YOUR MAILBOX, I'm trying to msg you.

So, with the understanding that if I'm taking the time to read your list I'm not so much into you as I am into your books, here's my list:

BOOKS
Faves: ABOUT A BOY, THE SISTERS BROTHERS; THE LORAX.
Currently enjoying: ORYX AND CRAKE; FIRST-RATE MADNESS; SEX AT DAWN.

Cluttering up my night-table:

Snicket, HIGH FIDELITY, Nick Hornby; WHAT TO EXPECT - THE TODDLER YEARS; ELECTION, Tom Perrotta; WAKING THE WORLD, A.B. Chinen; WILD MIND, Natalie Goldberg; THE WORLD IN SIX SONGS, Daniel Levitin; JERRY MAGUIRE, Cameron Crowe; THE WEST WING SCRIPT BOOK, Aaron Sorkin; METAMAGICAL THEMAS, Douglas R. Hofstadter; BOSSYPANTS, Tina Fey

Classical Necessities: Brandenburg Concertos; Concierto de Aranjuez (Joaquín Rodrigo); Sicilienne, Elégie, Pavane (Gabriel Fauré); The Hungarian Dances (Brahms); In a Persian Market (Ketelbey)

FOOD
Love me a good curry. I'm usually cooking simple healthy things with with just a hint of spice. My peanut butter apparently lives on the counter. I make a crazy good chocolate chip cookie with chick peas; someone msg'd me for the recipe from South Carolina. That's excessive.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My super-amazing family...
Music...
Silence...
Electricity...
Eccentricity...
Ellipses...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to get it all done. But I'm cultivating more optimism in this regard. For example, most things put off long enough completely lose their relevance. Problem solved.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Up 'till three. Sometimes its laundry, but sometimes it's also a song I can't get out of my head and I have to pull out my six string and learn it. Occasionally I'll go to a concert or a movie, and this makes me feel like a true sentient being.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My toothbrush needs replacing.
