My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I’m a very bright, creative, athletically inclined individual, with a strong sense of curiosity, adventure, and openness to self-examination.

If you’re looking for acceptance and human connection with a normal, confident, hard-working guy who gets it, who loves and understands you implicitly, who's strong, cares and who will be there for you when times are tough ...

If you are empathetic, emotionally attuned, and can “feel into” the subjective experience of another person ...

If you’re a fit, kind-hearted, nurturing, and personable woman; you like yourself, can listen, have good people skills, care about the world and other people, and can share your feelings and positive energy ...

Then send me a message!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’m a certified EMT and CNA and make it my business to help save lives and protect and care for the innocent and vulnerable.

I'm a proud father, too. I have a 6th grade 11 yr. old boy who's working on 8th grade algebra, and a 15 yr. old honors-level, captain of her soccer team who seems to worry a lot about her friends, boyfriend (gulp), college, and a new car.

It's kinda odd how my IQ seems to have dropped about 50% recently, I'm a total doofus, and a new psychiatric disorder is about to make it into the DSM-5, "death by public exposure to parenting." Alas, where your heart is, there lies your treasure also :)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm an active runner and competitive cyclist and skier. I've enjoyed preparing for the NYC Marathon, racing up Mt Evans and Lookout Mtn on my bike, and trying to win my division at the NASTAR National Championships.

I'd like to keep running and maybe join ACA cycling again or USSA Masters. Other things I like include hiking, backpacking and camping, golf, scuba, weight lifting, chess or trying just about anything to learn and grow as a person or as a couple.

I also care about nutrition and keep working on my Paleo-styled, low-wheat, sugar/HFCS & industrial seed oils, (high-chocolate), 150-best-foods (with exceptions) diet. Something must be working though, since my cardiac CT calcium score is zero and I weigh about what I used to weigh in college.
The first things people usually notice about me

My smile, my positive attitude, my calming influence.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
An orange on the table
On my rug your dress
In my bed your breathing
A sweet gift of the present
The cool of the night
Spark of my being. (Prévert)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
... that we’re one of those ornamental koi fish swimming in a stream. We can feel the water's temperature and can tell there is a current. We can feed and sleep, we're swimming, yet we can sense there is a world of space and time beyond us, like the touch of raindrops landing on the surface of the water. Kind of like you and I. I know you're out there. Are we a match? If we were, wouldn't that be cool ... something beautiful and unexplained ...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Reading my favorite poetry ...

I saw a white bird once
on a wild coast
and fell in love
with this dream that obsesses me. (Akiko)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably like you, I'm looking for "synergy" on all levels – emotional, physical, psychological. The big picture is not about money and stuff. They're great, but without passion and the right partner, things are just a distraction.

So beyond bikes and skis, what’s our mission in life? Do we share the same views and values? What gives us meaning together?

Politically, I'm a Paul Krugman kind of progressive and was an Obama summer organizer. I grok the Occupy movement, so if you watch a lot of Fox News, you might want to skip to a different profile :)

When it comes to philosophy and religion, I think John Lennon had it about right. "Imagine there's no countries ... and no religion, too." But as far as "no possessions" goes, welll ... think of what could I do with an extra $50K in sports equipment! Sigh ... attachment is the source of all suffering, they say :)
