My self-summary
Originally from Long Island, I've lived in Manhattan since '89.
My grandparents were all born in Italy, and I grew up in a very large, close knit family.
I graduated college with my degree in theater, and now I'm a hair colorist. What I hear most when I tell people what I do for a living is "really, you don't look like a hair colorist". My career has been really good to me, and I really like what I do, which to me is very important in defining success.
I can go to the same restaurants over and over and order the same thing's. If I know a friend is good at choosing new restaurants I always let them pick just to make sure I try new places.
I've traveled a lot, and really enjoy the research that goes along with exploring new places. I love the feeling of wandering a foreign city with a map.
I try my best to be nice to people and treat other's the way I'd like to be treated.
Friends think I'm funny and I don't want to be rude so I just agree. I can be sarcastic, but I try not to be mean and don't make jokes at other peoples expense.
I don't lie about my age, but I like when people lie to me about it.
"You don't look 48" like that. I'm simple that way.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now trying to think of something to say here!
I’m really good at
I'm really good to my family and I'm a really good friend.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not sure. Next time I meet someone I'll ask and get back to you.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've read most of Augusten Burroughs and David Sedaris's books. But I mostly read non- fiction. Some of the books I've read in the past year are, Night by Elie Wiesel, The Presidents Club, In The Garden Of Beasts and The Velvet Rage( it should be required reading for gay men) I just finished Goodbye to Berlin by Isherwood.
Musically, I was raised on Sinatra and have pretty eclectic tastes in music. I will listen to Ella one minute and Goldfrapp the next. with a heavy emphasis on Motown.
I go to the theater often, and one of my recent favorites was Once.
The six things I could never do without
Coffee, Coffee first thing in the morning. My family and friends. drinking coffee with my family and friends(is that six)?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What six things I can't live without
On a typical Friday night I am
Thinking, "am I supposed to be in by sundown?I'm not Jewish"
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My sister used to tease me when we were children that there was a reindeer named after her and not me. I was in my thirties before I realized that the reindeers name is Donder and not Donna!
