I am dimensional, osculatory, and frangible.

My Self-Summary

I love watching the shadowplay on the mountains. If I'm at the beach, I love to get up and get a fresh cup of coffee and watch the sunrise, it happens so fast. I love being there when it is off season and the wind whips you up a little and you can watch the dolphins in the early morning waves. It's like you are the only person on earth. I sit on my deck and the clouds and stars put me in awe. I won't say I pray as much as I dialog. I feel closer to the earth religions--I don't run around naked worshipping--but I do feel closer to God when I am under his sky.

I am not roses and orchids--I am violets, carnations and gladiolas, and I love the smell of orange blossoms. I am not chocolate--I am caramel. Coffee is essential.

I don't have a cell phone. I do have dogs. My children are all adults. I moved to Roanoke, Virginia because my one daughter is in college here and I fell in love with the mountains. I finally feel like I came home after living in the DC metropolitan area for most of my life.

Music is essential. I have a constant soundtrack in my life--rock & roll, oldies, country, some new age, if I like the melody or the lyrics, I don't care who did it or which era it's from. I like Pink Floyd to Floyd Kramer, Rolling Stones to David Arkenstone, Rascal Flatts, Dan Fogelberg, Alan Parsons, Glenn Miller, Metallica, Ray Lynch, Elton John, Gerry Rafferty, Tim Weisberg, you get the picture--diverse.

I'm not a perfect person and I don't expect you to be either.I am a woman--some days introverted, quiet and shy; some days I am outgoing. I am the one who strikes up conversations in the line at the grocery store. I always try to be kind (unless some person is driving an SUV with a cell phone stuck in their ear and is about to drive me off the road--not kind then!)

I believe in deep and passionate intimacy that connects on all four levels, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual--with one person who you've learned to trust and care for. That's why I am here and that's what I'm looking for.

What I’m doing with my life

Working. Dreaming. Sharing. Laughing. Learning. Living each day the best I can.

I’m really good at

Appreciating where I am and what I have.

The first things people usually notice about me

I have no clue. Ah, maybe that's it--maybe they notice I'm clueless.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Music: All over the board. Soundtrack to Ka, The Czars, U-2, Some country, some easy jazz, oldies, Emerson Lake & Palmer, and a whole lot more.

Movies: Braveheart, Dances with Wolves, Crash, Tracy and Hepburn movies, war movies, Indiana Jones, Transformers, The Notebook, Mulan. Blue Hawii, Gladiator, Dave, Renaissance Man, Count of Monte Cristo, 9 1/2 Weeks, Run Lola Run; tv series, but Firefly and the movie Serenity.

Food: Traditional southern, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese Noodle Soup, burgers, seafood, Thai, salads, grits, coffee--normal caffienated, not Starbucks, although the Sonic Chiller is quite tasty.

The six things I could never do without

Music, coffee, dogs, family, hope, love--physical, spiritual, emotional and mental.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

(1) How far we've come in the past 20 years; how much more and faster can it go before it all implodes.

(2) How to slow down and drink in the things that really matter--friendship, love, laughter.

On a typical Friday night I am

Lingering. Listening. Laughing. Looking. Loving--hmmmm?

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I love pistachios.

Actually, there is one more thing I am willing to admit here. I miss laying my head on my loved one's chest and listening to their heartbeat, having our heartbeats and breathing synch up. That is total peace and contentment.
