My self-summary
Hi! I'm fairly new to this, so now that I'm here, I'll tell you a little about myself. I've lived in NYC for 20 years, and love the city and the east coast in general. I'm smart, attractive, extremely kind, generous, caring and positive. Best of all, I'm funny, irreverent, have a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. I like to be silly, but I also have a serious side. When someone is my friend, he or she is my friend for life. I'm easy-going, spontaneous, affectionate and have a variety of interests. I love art, the theater, politics, reading, NYT crossword puzzles, great restaurants, kickboxing, all things Italian, traveling, the mid coast of Maine, the fall (Im not big on NYC summers!), antiquing, music, animals--for a start! And I really love to cook and bake! I'm always interested in learning new things and exploring new places. I'm a happy, upbeat person and am looking for my last--and best--relationship.
What I’m doing with my life
When most people my age are winding down their careers, I've decided to change mine! Sometimes I think I'm insane, but I love what I'm doing and am working hard to get my new business off the ground!
I’m really good at
a number of things. I'm very good at talking to people and getting them to feel comfortable and open up. I'm a great and loyal friend, a wonderful partner, travel companion and listener. I'm an excellent cook, an exceptional baker and copy editor. I'm not a bad kickboxer, but there's definitely room for improvement.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books: Too many to list! However, some books that I've recently read and enjoyed include, "Behind the Beautiful Tomorrows" (Katherine Boo), "Unfamiliar Fishes" (Sarah Vowell), "Death in the City of Light" (David King), "Drift" (Rachel Maddow), "In the Garden of Beasts" (Erik Larson), "Destiny of the Republic" (Candice Millard).
Favorite movies: As with books, too many to even consider. Among the ones I've loved in the last few years: "Wolf of Wall Street," "Midnight in Paris," "Her," "Dallas Buyer's Club," "Gone Baby Gone," "A Single Man." Favorite movie ever: "Snakes on a Plane."
Favorite TV shows: "True Detective," "House of Cards," "The Good Wife," "Top Chef."
Favorite music: I have very eclectic tastes--everything from rock to blues to hip hop to classical and opera. I have to confess that I was a "Dead Head" years ago, and I'm not crazy about country.
Food: Pretty much anything except Korean.
The six things I could never do without
1. Good health. I know, I know--everyone puts this, but the older you get, the more you realize just how true it is!
2. Good friends.
3. My passport.
4. My imagination/sense of humor (it's a tie).
5. Pets.
6. Books.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
why I get so many unsolicited emails offering discounted Viagra.
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no typical Friday night. I could be home reading, working, watching TV, or out to dinner with friends, at the theater....
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'll play Show & Tell with the right person.
