Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm the coolest punk rock animator you will ever meet. I am a
recent transplant from Chicago to North Hollywood, or "Noho", as
the locals call it.
Ok, let's go more in-depth. I am pretty easy going, unless we are
going someplace hard, like math class. I don't like math. I like
history and art. Art History, though, not at all. Naw, I'm kidding.
I'm not really a bar guy. More of a coffee shop guy. I like to kick
back at coffee shops. Key term is kick back. Unless someone's got
their coffee on the table, and then I accidentally kick it off.
That's never good. Luckily, it's only happened zero times.
I like going out, I like staying in. I like loud music, I like
ambient music. The only thing I really don't care for is sports.
Everything else is pretty alright with me.
I am in a long term open relationship with shecrawlsthru
. After many years, we
decided that monogamy was cool and all, but that we also want to be
able to pursue new friendships / relationships outside of our own.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently animating at a studio in Hollywood, setting up my own
studio with some friends, and doing my own smash internet sensation
Youtube show. A lot of work for sure, but it's A-OK!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Talking and listening. I can't always offer the right advice, but I
like to think that I'm a good person for people to bounce ideas,
frustrations, and hopes off of. I believe that talking things out,
even if it's just rambling and screaming, always helps with
whatever ails ya.
I'm also good at spouting useless info about bands or genres of
music. Want to discuss the differences between stoner metal and
doom metal? Let's go!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
How totally good looking I am.
Oh, that and my personality. I like to think I'm a little silly and
that I always have something interesting (or oddly inappropriate)
to say at any time. I also curse like a sailor, despite never
having served in the Navy, on a pirate ship, or on a commercial
But that's probably not something that people FIRST notice about
me. Maybe fourth.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Animal Farm is my favorite book. I also really loved Watership
Down. Apparently I like books about talking animals. That said, I
generally read zines or non-fiction. I love Studs Terkel and
Jonathan Kozol. I also read books relating to my career, storyboard
books, animation history books, etc. Currently, I am reading You
Idiot, which is a collection of zine issues from one of the dudes
in Banner Pilot.
For movies, I love Dazed and Confused and Napoleon Dynamite... But
I also like serious stuff like Serpico. I also really liked The
Village. I love animation and cartoons, obviously... But more so tv
shows than animated films. Though things like The Secret of Kells
I love punk rock. Love it. Have loved it for 15 years. That's it?
Huh, I thought it was longer than that.. Oh well. Sometimes I cheat
on punk rock with metal, dub, or electronica. Sometimes we have an
audio orgy. Currently, I find myself listening to:
- My Bloody Valentine
- Screeching Weasel
I like tacos and coffee and cheese and pasta and eggs and salads
and hamburgers and cheeseburgers and tacos and more tacos.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Drawing / Animation
5. My cats
I could probably do without tacos, but man, they sure are
Upon reflection, no, I cannot do without tacos.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life. Decisions, comings and goings, people. There's a lot out
there, and it's fully customizable!
I also think a lot about my career. Just what kinda things I'd like
to work on. Steps to take to get there. Stuff like that.
A friend once said to me, after watching a movie, "I didn't
understand (so-and-so character's) motivations for her actions."
This totally clicked with me, in terms of what makes good character
writing. So, as silly as it sounds, I spend a lot of time thinking
about shows and movies and the characters. I think about if the
actions of the characters make sense based on motivations. And if
they don't, I find that I become less interested in said show or
I also worry about whether or not I use commas in the right places.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At a punk rock show, or home. I don't do the whole bar scene and I
don't go clubbing... Unless the punk rock show is at a club.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I sometimes get really excited rocking out so I'll air guitar...
And watch myself do so in the mirror. And I'm like, damn, I would
look awesome with a not-pretend guitar.
