My self-summary
Just back from a weekend of mountain biking, hiking and ziplining in Moab. Time to plan the next adventure! Tickets booked for Alaska - now need to figure out what we'll do when we get there.

I'm one of the few legit Bay Area natives. I grew up in Berkeley & will always consider this part of the world home. I spent 15 years away (on the East Coast, Chicago, Paris, Melbourne) - including time as a sailor in Newport, 4 years in grad school in Chicago, and a stint in Geneva helping the World Health Organization in its mission to eliminate malaria.

I finally moved back to San Fran last summer. I'm loving reconnecting with old friends and rediscovering this amazing city. Now I'm looking for a great guy to join the fun.

Care of my kiwi mother, I carry a New Zealand passport and I visit all of my relatives there frequently.
What I’m doing with my life
I lead international expansion and corporate development at a late stage ad tech start-up in SOMA. The ad tech space is evolving by the minute and my role puts me right at the center of all the activity. We're transforming the advertising industry from Mad Men to Math Men - constant challenge and lots of fun!

In my previous life, I was a management consultant & lawyer. I'm loving the change of pace and the excitement that is the SF start-up scene.
I’m really good at
whipping up a mean, green smoothie to kick off the day! Packing up the car with an assortment of athletic gear (and hopefully you!) and heading out of town for a weekend away.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm always smiling - often for no apparent reason. Regardless of how the day's going, I defer to a smile. I find that it encourages similar smiles from those around me, making for a more pleasant day all around!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Fiction is my thing and I always have a couple of books on the go. Recent favorites: A Fine Balance, Mozart's Last Aria, 1Q84.
In terms of music, my tastes are eclectic. I'm a fan of live music and gravitate towards singer / songwriter. Just saw Justin Townes Earle at the Chapel - good stuff.
Food-wise, I gravitate towards healthy/organic (like everyone else in SF!). I prefer simple, healthy foods. An indulgent dinner at a fancy new restaurant is a nice treat every now and again - but I'm perfectly content with simpler fare and the company of good friends.
TV isn't my thing - I'd rather be out with friends or with nature.
I volunteer at a local dog shelter where I help socialize abused or abandoned dogs. I don't currently have a dog of my own, but I hope to one day soon!
The six things I could never do without
lots of sunshine
warm smiles
fresh fruits & veggies
long walks in all types of weather
my trusted road bike
a great education
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my next adventure. I love to explore. Accordingly, my weekends are a lively mix of exercise, adventure and time spent catching up with friends. I'm happiest when I'm out exploring the world on two wheels - Paradise Loop, any one?
My travels have taken me all over the map - from Ghana where I volunteered in a refugee camp to Nicaragua where I found myself stranded on a volcanic island in the middle of a violent storm.
On a typical Friday night I am
No such thing as a typical Friday night! You might find me packed into the back of a friend's SUV en route to Tahoe, at a show at The Chapel in the Mission, laughing with friends over a glass of wine, or at home resting up for an early Saturday morning cycle.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That'll have to wait until we meet in person!
I’m looking for

  • Ages 32–40

  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
all of the above sounds good and you think we'd hit it off!
