My self-summary
A trusted friend of mine told me to be more flexible and be open to changing my plans. I misunderstood him and thought he meant I should be more spontaneous. At any rate, I am an inflexible man of action!

I get really interested in learning things whenever I talk to someone who knows a lot about it... but I tend to lose interest if I'm just looking it up myself. It makes for easy conversation though, since I like to hear what people say, and I'm less likely to look it up myself (which would make me less interested since I already know it). It all works out!

I always keep a moderate distance (three to four seconds) between me and the car in front of me. Driving cars is really dangerous! Don't underestimate cars, they're a lot bigger than you!
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a design engineer during the weekdays. There's some number crunching, but it's a surprisingly social job. The majority of my work is collaborating with experts and specialists, comparing different opinions, and making educated guesses. It's also surprisingly hectic, running back and forth and gathering as much information as you can before committing to a decision before the deadline. It's a lot of fun!

I'm satisfied with my job right now, and I'm enjoying the learning experience. I've decided to focus on bettering myself personally at home and leaving my work at work. I'm eating healthy, cooking my own meals, exercising regularly, meditating, reading more novels, and listening to TED talks. I like relaxing at home, but it isn't the place I want to meet new people =p

I spend a lot of time with my pals... so I hope you like them? I like to play board games and card games with them. Board games are taking over! It's the trend of this generation!

Also friend of mine makes mead, which is incredibly appropriate when we're playing tabletop RPGs (Dungeons and Dragons).
I’m really good at
-Finding the bright side of things

-Munchkin (card game), mwahahaa. I'm also a pretty darn good DM.

-Editing! I'm quite good at editing both scholarly works and creative works. I can edit scholarly works for clarity, and I've had positive feedback when brainstorming with others about their original stories. I'm better at editing creative works than writing them. I can come up with an idea, premise, or plot hook easily enough, but I have trouble writing out those ideas in a way someone would want to read.

-Pairing dishes to make a flavor-balanced meal. I think I'm better at constructing meals than I am at cooking them.

-Making simplifying assumptions. I'm pretty good at reducing complex problems to simpler ones.

-Empathizing with fictional characters. I like to think that people have reasons for what they're doing, and those reasons are worth thinking about. I think calling someone "stupid" or "evil" is a lazy answer, although it is sometimes the correct one.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm usually pretty energetic when I first meet people. I want them to talk about things! Please, talk about what you are passionate about!

A lot of times I'll start talking without really thinking about what I'm saying, and weird stuff comes out.

High quality Sushi
High quality anything else
Avocados are amazing. I put onions and garlic on everything. Almond butter is both too good and too expensive. I'm really surprised how much better steel-cut oatmeal is than rolled oatmeal.

Lately I've been playing too much Dark Souls again. Board game wise I've been playing a bit of Settlers, Sentinels of the Multiverse, and as always D&D.
The six things I could never do without
-Tasty food. On bad days, thinking about getting to eat breakfast is what gets me out of bed, and thinking about getting to eat dinner is what gets me through the day. Not many bad days anymore though!

-Post-it notes. These things are amazing! External memory

-Stories. Stories motivate and revitalize me when I'm mentally fatigued. I don't think I'd be as happy as I am if it weren't for the inspiration and hope that I've gained from reading and watching stories.

-A great blanket

-Sleep (more than just the basics, I really need 6-8 hours a night. A good night's sleep is important to me. Food and sleep are the foundations of a good day)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think a lot about food. Planning my meals, nutrition content, tasty content, and when I need to eat to prevent me from getting hangry.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm playing games with friends, lately. Preferably in person, I don't like online interaction as much.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't wear pants when I'm alone in my apartment.

I love stuffed animals! My favorite is my Giant Squishable® T-Rex (and his best bud Utahraptor)

  • Ages 18–27
  • Near me

You understand that Sea Lions are the best animal at the zoo. Red Pandas are also cute. Also I wish they had otters.

You want to play D&D (might have to split into two games soon though)

If you're a Nigerian prince and you need $10,000 to move several million dollars into an available bank account and are willing to reimburse me.
