My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Joshua.

I am 24 and just now actually trying to get back into the whole dating game after a long pause for school. With the days of needing to spend hours pouring over old novels for grades finished I decided it was time to inject myself back into this dating world and see what I can manage.

First off I think I need to get this out of the way as this is the single biggest part of my personality that you will see. I'm a geek. I'm not even going to try to hide it. I read comics, I watch the newest cartoons and television shows, I play quite a lot of video games, I've started to cosplay, and I even do some pen and paper role playing games. I'd love to be able to find someone to enjoy these pleasures of mine with. Either someone who already partakes or someone willing to dive head first into it!

Now for all the rest. I've recently moved to Toronto and despite being here not very long I'm already in love with this city. The Silver Snail is my favourite place to chill, have a nice coffee, play some pokemon, and write.

I'm a somewhat quiet, bookish guy. I enjoy to read and many of the classics are favourites of mine. I'm not saying you need an English degree to keep up with me but knowing who Milton was is a huge plus!

I'm a total foodie in every sense of that silly word (seriously, why don't we use gourmand?). Cooking, baking, and food in general is one of my larger passions. I love to cook, I love to bake, I love to just run around a sweltering kitchen making food for friends and family.

I'm a passionate writer. I wish I could have musical or studio art talents but sadly I am limited to words on a page. Writing is one of my oldest passions and a day doesn't go by without me writing something or another. It could be a one off piece of smut (you read that right) or it could be a new chapter of my novel but it doesn't matter, I write every day.

I may be quiet and come off as a little shy but once I warm up to someone you really get to see quite a bit of me. Also good luck shutting me up if you get me going.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
-Setting up my apartment. IKEA furniture is time-consuming.
-Writing a High Fantasy novel. [rewriting over and over, cause I'm picky]
-Getting back into shape (Working in the food industry has its perks. Free food is boon and a bane.)
-Video Games, pen and paper rpgs (Pathfinder), POKEMON! (it consumes me) shit I started playing LoL again...
-Working (Food Service Director)
-Finding new work
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
-Video Games
-Pop culture
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Uhh...Blue eyes I suppose. I've been told they are ridiculously blue. Like I've spooked people by looking at them too long or hard.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Harry Potter (entire series), Lord of the Rings, Paradise Lost, King Solomon's Mine, Shakespeare's comedies, To kill a mocking bird, Frankenstein, the Dresden Files, and many more. The list is figuratively massive and not as interesting as the books on them.

Movies: Kung Fu Hustle, Hellboy, The Avengers, Men In Black 1&3, Kill Bill Vol 1, Tremors, The Big Lebowski, Dogma, Serenity, The Incredibles, The Fifth Element, Ghostbusters! I love FUN movies, movies that get you talking, thinking, or inspired. A lot of cult classics are on this list as well.

Shows: Kitchen Nightmares, Doctor Who, Sherlock, The Amazing Race, A butt-tonne of cooking shows, Supernatural, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Young Justice (why did you have to go and get cancelled) . Cartoons are awesome. I have a hard drive I am slowly filling with the best cartoons as well as television shows I've ever seen. Give me suggestions!?

Music: all over the place, a little bit of everything. Easier to say I DESPISE pop-country and Christian rock. I have a super soft spot for Classical with Shostakovich's "Waltz No. 2" and Prokofiev's "Dance of the Knights" being two of my current favourites to write with.

Food: Anything. No, seriously. I'll eat anything twice. Once to actually say I've tried it. The second time to say I liked it.

Video Games: Pokemon (currently consuming my life. Ask me how I did as a Gym Leader :P ), Any Legend of Zelda game, League of Legends. Big fan of FPS games as well, haven't had time to play any of the new ones. Annnd I've started playing WoW again. Moon Guard, I don't know how to quit you.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- My Awesome 12' long Fourth Doctor scarf
- My Laptop (It's basically my primary writing tool!)
- My Note books and pens (my prehistoric writing tool)
- My Nintendo DS
- My Glasses
-Tea (God help us all if I don't get at least one cup of tea a day)

I could say friends, family, internet, and basic things to survive but that is boring and this is more telling about my personality.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Story ideas mostly. By the time the day ends I've created five different worlds all with their own rules, laws, and myths.

I also run a lot of Pokemon/League of Legend/Video Game/Pathfinder stuff through my head

Then there are the real important questions. Important to me doesn't mean important to everyone.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Waist deep in video gaming goodness. Bars and pubs are nice every once and awhile but nothing beat a great video game and playing with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well I would put something sexual but I'm almost certain that'd probably reflect badly on me. So i'm going to cheat and do the second most private thing. Which would be probably that I've read the entire Twilight series to impress a girl in high school. I freaking HATED it, but I read it. There, happy now?

What I'm looking for is someone who I can hold a conversation with. I want to be able to talk about one of my passions be it literature, food, video games, or pop culture in general. I'd love to be able to play a game with someone in a genuine way. I'd love to be able to find someone to go to cons with or to just hang out, drink beer, play video games, and eat tasty things with.

What I am looking for are good people to share some fantastic memories with, even if they are short.
