"I’m a simple man. I like pretty, dark-haired women and breakfast foods."
These are quotes. If you know where they are from, you are good people.
I'm the ideal man for the girl who just wants a part-time boyfriend. Those days we see each other, I do all the normal boyfriend stuff. One day a month, once every other week, three times a week, whatever works best for your busy schedule. I'm sort of like a time-share boyfriend.
I am very politically aware. I am also very disappointed with the ineffectiveness, blind partisanship, non-thinking labeling and dogmatic adherence to sound bytes and catch phrases that passes for politics in this country. I want reasoned discourse and well articulated positions.
So I've been thinking of moving to Denmark, Austria, or Switzerland. Or some other saner country. I hear Seoul, Korea is really nice, as is Vienna.
I have been in multiple long term polyamorous relationships. I don't date exclusively, and don't expect anyone I date to date me exclusively. Specifically, I practice ethical non-monogamy, as in I date two or more women, who also date other people, and we don't just all date each other. All the relationships are separate, one on one relationships. It is more like having multiple girlfriends, who I see on different days of the week.
I don't believe in monogamy and I don't do jealousy. I will happily answer/discuss any aspects of polyamory you're curious about. I appreciate my time to myself, but also equally enjoy those days I spend with someone. Finding a balance and making time for both is key.
I like people with drive and ambition. If you have a goal, and you are working towards it, and you want to share it with people around you, that's a great thing. We need more people like that.
I work hard and dream big. I'm starting to get where I want to go. Its taken a few years longer than I would have liked. Oh well. I'm ENTJ all the way.
I love cooking and having cocktails after work, or getting takeout and doing the same, and maybe watching and episode or two of new show or series that I've been introduced to.
LOLcats make me smile. Schadenfreude and I get along just fine. I also give great massages. I have restless hands, that are very strong and dexterous. Sometimes I don't even notice that I'm doing it. It is better than tapping my foot, at least.
I am extremely well read, and know ungodly amounts of things( mostly useless crap like history, trivia, etc) because I have an excellent memory for useless crap. I can hold my own in any conversation on any subject. I am insatiably curious, and once a question has been asked, I almost always end up looking it. Wikipedia is always a good place to start. For this reason I am thankful for the invention of the smart phone with web browser.
I am extremely honest, and expect the same. My ideal woman would be smart, a conversationalist, have a sense of humor, and a healthy sex drive. I like smart women, who have the broadest possible range of interests. I know that no one can know everything, but everyone can try to.
I used to go to the gym everyday, or even twice a day when I was in college. I need to work out more, I fell off my routine for months, and just started back a couple weeks ago. This has been really good for me. I try to work out between 3 and 5 times a week. Nothing is more enjoyable than that completely exhausted feeling after a hard workout, knowing that you did all you could, and then seeing the results week after week. I also like doing gymnastics, swimming, and running. I started running again in July of this year, almost back to doing a 5k a couple times a week. Currently, I am not very fast.
I'm a social drinker. It took a few years, but I developed a taste for a few things here and there. I like good beer, local/craft IPAs, homebrews, Belgians, Lambics, Barley Wines, Meads, etc, and good hard liquor. vodka is preferred - Stoly and Chopin. Gin and Tonic. 7 and 7s. Bucks. White Russians. Wines, but I am picky, Chenin Blanc, Gewurztramener, or Beujolais Neuvo and some Rieslings.
I love going out to eat. I love finding new restaurants, and trying new dishes. I definitely live to eat, not eat to live. I even write myself little restaurant reviews, when I go out to dinner alone, which I hate doing, but that balances against my love of a fine meal, or discovering something new.
I am also an excellent cook, especially interesting fusion cuisine, Italian and rare Steaks. I like all kinds of food, especially German, Indian and Thai food, and rare steaks.
I'm not a big sports fan, though I did start watching Padre games in 2005. That went on for about a year. I still go to a couple games a year, but I don't have a TV or cable anymore, and don't really miss it. I will hit up a sports bar once or twice during football season to catch a game, the social part of that makes it more fun than watching at home.
I like good movies, of any type. I hate television, I don't own one, the roommates have one, but only for video games. I like computers and books. I used to think I wanted to retire by age 30. That didn't happen, obviously, but I have a suspicion that I could not have retired, no matter how successful I became. If I ever were so rich, that I felt I could retire, I would be doing too well at whatever I was doing, to want to give it up.
I like Welsh Corgis, they make me smile. I'd really like to get one, because I have never had a dog. But I just don't think it would mesh with my lifestyle, right now. If I can't handle a dog, then a wife and kids are right out.
