I am a very open minded person and a non-traditionalist. What I mean by this is that besides being very interested in people in what they have to say, I am accepting of almost all kinds of people. I say almost because I will never be accepting of people who are abusive, be it children or people in general. So in effect if you have a life style that suits you and others you are involved with and no one is being abused then I say enjoy! It's your life, your right to choose how you want to be and who you want to be with.

As a non-traditionalist I am a person who does not like for traditions, rituals or whatever the "norm" is to dictate how I need to live my life. I want to eat steak and breakfast and a bowl of cereal at dinner. And really so many more things that I will not get into here but would be willing to discuss with those would want to talk.

I honestly do not believe that all the rules apply to me. I am vastly smarter then most people in a lot of ways and the guidelines that society has in place to keep most people in line are wasted on me. I need the freedoms to be able to not only think outside the box but to act outside of it as well. I do not work well in a highly structured environment unless I am in charge. I do believe in skipping over road blocks which often come in the shape of people who do not have the scope to comprehend something I envision or fear that I will eclipse them. This often gets me in trouble. And where I have stated I am smarter then most in a lot of ways, knowing when to just let a good idea slip away rather then fighting to make it happen is not one of them.

As a leader I am empowering and I believe in autonomy as it is earned. What I mean is that I like a structure where I allow the people to advance at their potential. Some people like to be corralled and told exactly what to do when. And there are some often brilliant people who just need the room to make things happen, and I love to give them that room. What I am never afraid of is being eclipsed as I know for a fact that I am not the most brilliant person in the world. I am however a good leader and deserve a position as a leader because I create an environment where these brilliant people can shine.

I am very creative. As an organizer I have created incredible city wide events which have brought together massive crowds in good spirits. I have also written speeches which I have given in the Georgia House Chambers and which have been read by successful candidates on campaigns. I love to draw. In the Army I was the Battalion Artist for a couple years drawing pictures, plaques and murals through out the various barracks, office buildings and chapel. I am also a fan of comic books. I have written a few and drawn many pictures of well known heroes and some of my own.

I love to travel. Having been in the Army for 7 years I had an opportunity to visit a lot of countries especially in Europe since I was stationed in Germany for 4 years. Those 4 day weekends we had were never wasted on me as I had a travel packet in my hand the minute we were released from formation. When I returned to the states I settled down a bit but the travel bug was never squashed. I enjoy discovering great locations closer to home now since I don't get those sweet 4 day weekends anymore, but that does not make the adventures any less fun, since I make it fun no matter what ;). The visitors bureau here is a great place for people like me. They know everything going on and I love to take advantage. I also buy books on lost, forgotten or off the beaten path locations which can lead to some fun adventures just from being lost, lol.

I like working out at the gym. I try to go 3-4 times a week sometimes more, and sometimes even more then once a day. I find it gives me more energy and I can pump out any frustrations, taking it out on the weights. I usually try to do 30-60 minutes on the elliptical, always work the core and rotate arms, legs and back. The machine weights are best for me because I currently do not have a work out buddy, but if you live in Columbus and have a membership at Golds Gym feel free to let me know and we can work out together.

I love Dragon*Con! If I could live there I would. I have an eternal membership which I bought many years back and it has more then paid for itself. For those who do not know what I am talking about please visit www.dragoncon.org. This is the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the US. I personally love being around 40,000 people who are all a bit out of the ordinary in some way. The costuming is wonderful and I enjoy dressing up in various styles. And I get wide eyed about some of the truly artistic and expressive costumes that other people have brought to life. I enjoy the gaming, LARPing, TV and Movie Star panels, writers panels, the scientists from NASA, the conspiracy theorists, the great artwork and dealers tables, contests, drinking and partying and having a good time. I am currently studying for the LSAT so that I can head off to law school. I am also currently on the Mayors Commission on Unity and Diversity. This commission is important to me and I am running for the chair position. I am also going through a divorce (possibly the nicest variety, though no divorce is easy) and I am working to spend as much time as I can with my 2 children which can be hard since they are 150 miles away.

The Movies I like the most are the ones that are emotionally very powerful. If they can make you fall in love, cry or get upset then I probably like it. I also like a good well written science fiction thriller or fantasy movie to get my creative and intellectual juices flowing. I am a fan of horror movies also but probably because they are emotionally powerful in that they incite fear. I am most afraid/fascinated of/by zombies so they are my favorite horror movies.

I like some of just about all music, but again I like the music that creates a powerful emotional response. Some songs can fill you with passion, rage, bring about memories or make you break down crying. If a song can affect me in this way then I probably like it.

My favorite foods are Italian and Mexican. I however do like to explore a lot of different kinds of cuisine. What I do not like however is sea food, specifically any kind of sea bug.
