Self summery, huh?
I’m an old fashioned romantic – a one woman guy – I view the world through a scientist’s eyes but interpret it with an artist’s heart. I’m a lover and peace maker. I am a straight forward guy who believes that without honor a person (man or woman) has nothing at all.
I am not here to meet as many women as I can but to find one special woman. Not one with hidden agendas or one looking for an easy way out of her present crises, but someone who wants to fill the void in her life as much as I would like to fill the void in mine.

I have been a professional mariner (at varying levels - a captain ) for a good part of my life, but I am trying to come off the water – professionally that is – the salt is too thick in my veins to leave the sea for ever, but I’m just plain tired of being out to sea for long periods of time and away from those I love!

Summer 2011 – I moved to the Morgan City area. The small company I work for started using a marine facility there where we can renovate supply boats and other marine equipment. My work is mostly as Yard Foreman, Marine Systems Engineer, Port Captain, U.S. Coast Guard and C.F.R. Liaison, "hack" welder, Ditch digger and grass mower, ... I even wash the boss's truck occasionally ... a great stress reliever!

My artistic endeavors are on temporary hiatus - "creative block" and all that!

Oh ... I'm really good at a lot of things! 3D art and graphics and animation; SAILING!; Mechanics; Computers; Electronics; Philosophical and Scientific debates; working with my hands; cooking; baking; listening; conversation about ALL kinds of subjects, procrastination ............. er ............. when I get around to it; growing eatable things in the garden; understanding animals; Jack of all trades! ... Oh ... and modesty, too! =D

That I am one that smiles easily and frequently so that the lines in my face resulting in such activity are permanently etched. They aren't wrinkles - it's permanent personality!!!!! My brother mostly notices that I only have a "hint" of gray in my hair - but that's because his is rapidly turning white! (Finally! Being the younger brother has an advantage! Ha-ha! ... no , really, I love my brother, but ... Ha-ha!!!)

Beach music to shag by (lazy-man's-jitterbug - You girls from Carolina know what I'm talkin' 'bout), science fiction movies and books, and I'll eat anything ... I'm a sailor, what can I say.

I don’t know! I’ve “done without” a lot of things at different times during the course of my life. I’ve come to realize that what a person WANTS and what a person NEEDS can be worlds apart.
Basically as long as you have food to fill your gut and a way to get in out of the rain, you don’t need much else to live.

Beyond that, self respect and a person to wrap your heart around makes all of life’s short-comings a whole lot more bearable.

What the heck do I want to cook for dinner tonight! Good grief! It's a nightly thing! I can do some pretty nifty things in the galley but it seems a shame that I'm the only one around to enjoy it! Oh well - tonight it's crab stuffed mushrooms and tilapia poached in a white cheese and black pepper sauce, with honey glazed, wild green and black cow peas (hand picked growing out of the wharf bulkhead wall), , and a chocolate and coconut custard I "invented" last week. OH! and let's not forget - homemade (from scratch) dinner rolls! I think a LOT about different ways to bake bread! ...... mmmm ...... chocolate custard ...... hungry?=)

um .......... like how long ago are we talking here? I USED to go out for dinner and dancing on a Friday night.

I am a very romantic, warm hearted, physically natured fellow when I'm in love. ... and that's all I'll say about that!
