Update (Kinda)

Alright boys, I'm apologizing in advance to those of you who I have been chatting with and who I have not responded to in weeks. I'm in the process of studying for the biggest and most comprehensive exam I'll probably ever take (think: me in a room with a panel of experts in ecology and evolutionary biology answering rapid-fire questions for two hours and a four-day written exam.... literally writing essays for FOUR DAYS) so I'm out of commission until mid December. But after that.... ;)

Hmmmm... I'm not very good at these "self-assessments" so I will fill this in as inspiration comes.

Inspiration is late.

Grad school.
Sometimes I love it...
Sometimes I hate it...
At least I get to be outside in the sunshine and play in the dirt and look at cool plants--that part is pretty great.

My freckles...
I forget I have them sometimes--until someone describes me as "the Mexican girl with freckles" or tells me they like them and then I'm like "Oh yeah.. My face has spots. I forgot."

I read a lot. If you don't, you're missing out.

Movies... not so much. They have to be spectacular for me to want to spend two hours of my life in front of them. So I'm always looking for movie recommendations from people whose taste I trust.

Food!!!! I LOVE Food! I like cooking and trying new recipes and weird foods. I'll try anything.
I'm also kind of a carnivore. Unfortunately, though, I am an enlightened carnivore--which means I am aware of the environmental and ethical consequences of my love of delicious meat, so I try to make informed choices about what I eat..... most of the time.
One of the biggest bummers about Santa Cruz is the limited selection of cuisines.... Where's the Vietnamese? Ethiopian? Caribbean? Persian? Korean?

not that private, but....

I really, really, really wish I had synesthesia. Any kind. But I'd prefer the visual-sound connection type.

However, if you're just looking for someone to hang out with and do something interesting with, then maybe I'll respond. I don't know so many people in SC so if you have some specific fun activity in mind--hike, concert, festival, restaurant, dancing, etc--there is a pretty good chance I'll take you up on it. I'm really looking to explore this area and learn all about the "little gems" of SC and the greater bay area. So if you know of an awesome spot, try me.
