I have been staring at this blank window for quite a while now, trying to come up with something to put down that actually sounds like me. I've come to the conclusion that there's no way somebody is going to get to know me properly from a few lines of text and a few pictures, so I should probably just forget that objective and write something down.
For those amongst you who read those 'few lines of text' and still feel the urge to get to know me better, you can always drop me a line.

I'm Carolien, I'm a 22 year old bisexual female, living in Leiden, the Netherlands. I'm divorced (but still very close friends with my ex) and currently living with a good friend of mine, as living with my family again after my divorce kinda...well...drove me nuts. As could be expected.
I'm a very many-sided person. Many a person would raise their eyebrows at the strange combination of interests, talents, hobbies, experiences etc.
I guess i'll just name a few things, keep it simple.
I'm a very creative person. I love art, music, words, all things creative. I'm a singer and I play various instruments. If you would like to hear my latest work, check out the Ealeon myspace.
I'm a bit of a nerd. I love to learn, and i'm always stuffing all the information I can get into my head. I'm curious. I want to know how things work. See things from as many points of view as possible. I'm open minded. Mind you, i'm also stubborn as hell.
My best subjects at school were Biology and Art. I also have a thing for languages. My worst subject, Math. *Shudders*
I have finished a (home) course in Medical Terminology and I also took a course in Psychology.

I have lived in New Zealand for nine years, from my 3rd to my 12th. Hence my current job, I work as a freelance translator.
I want to become a midwife, but so far I haven't been having much luck with the admission process.

Humor. Sarcasm. Satire. Sadistic. English. Think Monty Python.

Books. Love to read. All kinds of things. God, moving is going to be hell, my book collection just keeps getting bigger and bigger. But hey, you can never have too many books...and I need a library...

Music. Really really varied. So many things I like. But I do have a slight preferance for alternative things. Here once again, strange combinations...In my cd-cupboard, you can find Celine Dion albums stacked next to Machinehead, After Forever next to Destiny's Child, Pendulum next to Vivaldi...Really...it's all over the place.

Baking. Yeah, you read right...I have this slight obsession with baking. Cookies. Muffins. Cakes. I like cooking too, but I prefer baking. Unfortunately, we don't have an oven where i'm living now...So I keep myself busy otherwise...I've recently decided to pick up knitting and crochetting again, my mum taught me the basics as I child and i'd like to pick it up again.

Drums. Next to singing, I play various instruments. At the moment, i'm taking drum lessons.
I also go to the gym a lot. I particularly enjoy Body Pump and Body Combat.

At the moment, a great deal of my life revolves around therapy. Long story. Not going to bore you with all that here, but it doesn't bother me to talk about it.
Might as well be honest about it, I'm a nutcase. Don't worry though, i'm harmless :)
