I moved back to GR about a year ago after living in Chicago, where I worked as an investment consultant. It was a great place to spend my early/mid 20s, but I'm happy to be back in West Michigan since this is home and I was getting a little burned out riding the "El" every day to get to work. 75 people in one train car when it is 85 degrees outside is not enjoyable. I have a great job where I focus most of my efforts in marketing and account management. My work life tends to be a never ceasing string of chaos, but it affords me the opportunity to work with a number of great people and have a lot of freedom to dictate my own schedule.
Here's the part where I tell you that I like to be active rather than a couch potato. What's that really mean? I really dislike that, and my inner econ major is screaming at me to quantify it. So here's me: I make it a priority to make it to the gym 3 times a week, no more, no less. I take one night a week to myself to catch up on whatever's on my DVR. I shoot for a date a week and I scour Reddit to discover interesting things and horrific OKCupid stories. I think that I am a well-rounded person and I can be comfortable in pretty much any setting/situation. I value spending time with my family and have a great relationship with them. I think that its great that we live in Beer City USA and enjoy trying new breweries to sample the local flavor. I am a sports fan at heart and really enjoy catching a game (Go Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and Spartans). I am athletic and enjoy any type of competition. I used to swim competitively, but now just do it for fun and to stay relatively fit.
