My self-summary
I am briefly taking a break from my sabbatical from dating to celebrate with someone to listen to one of my favorite singers.

On Saturday March 19 at 8 pm, I have two second row seats for the Loreena McKennitt concert in San Francisco. I am looking for someone to join me to this Canadian Diva of Celtic and "World" music. It would be desirable, though not essential that you are a Loreena fan.

A light dinner before the concert is included.

I have no expectations beyond this one date, but who knows, it may be the beginning of a nice friendship.

A few examples of Loreena's work:

What I’m doing with my life
...the very best I can each day. Definitely will stick with "day" as my measure of progress. I haven't quite mastered this "living in the moment" thing, but at least I am mindful of it..once in a while.

I am at the gym three days a week, lifting weights and lap swimming.

I meditate regularly at a Zen center in San Jose.
I’m really good at
losing my keys, forgetting people's names, knowing all the 2-letter words, and waking up minutes before my alarm.
The first things people usually notice about me
I would say my smile (slightly impish) emerging from my reddish/silverish goatee, and a certain gentlemanly reserve, cultivated from growing up in Montreal and Toronto.

By the way, the first is not the last.

Lately, I've been reserving online through my library, books you recommend in your profiles. I've read five so far, some quite quirky, but all great.

Loreena McKennitt, Enya, Deva Premal, Slavic choral music
Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Don McClean, Gordon Lightfoot, Alison Krauss, Johnny Cash, Love Jazz in small venues, Pink Martini, Diana Krall, Chopin, Mozart, Sharon Isbin

Omnivore (no dilemma).
The six things I could never do without
You can pick the six you like the most:
Touch (anything skin to skin)
My children
My parents (and eventually my memory of them)
Watching ice hockey live or listening to it on the radio
KQED
My iPhone
Hope
Strong coffee
Eye contact
Intuition
Long walks
Pouring rain, storms (perhaps a casualty of climate change)
Silence, meditation
Loreena McKennitt's voice and melodies
I spend a lot of time thinking about
why many women on this site shy away from confessing anything interesting on the profile question "The most private thing I'm willing to admit" but are not inhibited about revealing the most intimate details of their lives on their OKC questions. Well, thank you, just the same.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I was abducted by aliens when I was 12, returned in a few months, enough time to prepare for my Bar Mitzvah.

Alright, I sorta made that up...I was only abducted for a few days
You should message me if
you think there is the basis of a friendship.
