I am easily distracted, artistic, and opinionated.

My Self-Summary

Blah Blah Blah. I hate everything I had written here, so lets scale it back.
Back in school at UNCC for middle grades education, specialization in science and language arts.
Native of Charlotte. I'll get out someday.
I love karaoke, but only after at least 2 drinks.
I'm pretty painfully shy. Sometimes I try to make up for this for being loud and bossy.
I laugh at myself.

What I’m doing with my life

Not as much as I'd like going on in this area. I work with the kids every week day, and that wears me out. I sing with Carolina Voices, a local community group. (check it out, www.carolinavoices.org) I do a little photography. I go out on the weekends every now and then. I go to the movies whenever I can sucker someone into going with me. I like to talk about movies a lot, sometimes I talk during, people hate that.I started back to school last fall. Yet another try at college, at least this time I think I know what I want to major in. And having to pay for it myself without help from my parents ought to motivate me to do well.

I’m really good at

Laughing. Stating the obvious. Sleeping late. Improvising. Being sneaky. Cooking eggs. Being weird.

The first things people usually notice about me

I talk really loud, and I laugh too much when I'm nervous.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

The truth is I will read anything I can get my hand on. Some of it is fairly trashy fantasy. But right now I'm re-reading the Narnia books and love them as much as I did when I was little. I'm a big fan of Terry Pratchet and the Discworld books. I'm also a huge Heinlein fan. Whenever I read his stuff I start talking like a libertarian nudist for a few days.

I'm a big movie fan, but I haven't seen anything in a long time. I love the Princess Bride (like all closet romantics), Boondock Saints, the Graduate, Secretary, The Prestige, Garden State, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Connie and Carla, Fight Club, Saved, Say Anything, Serenity, Gattaca, too many others to list.

The six things I could never do without

Diet Coke, a book, humor, movies, cute socks, flirting

I spend a lot of time thinking about

On a typical Friday night I am

Doing my homework for class Saturday. Going to bed earlier than I like to admit.

Saturday night I can be found at singing karaoke at Jackalope Jacks. I am now officially a regular, twice the bouncer at the door has recognized and not carded me. Karaoke night is full of tricky decisions. For instance, if I'm going to sing, then I need to drink, but if I drink enough to sing I shouldn't drive home. Luckily I have a younger brother who can be suckered into being my designated driver. He's good people. Another tricky karaoke decision: do you sing a song that sounds like fun, or one that you feel you won't sound like a screechy idiot perfoming? The answer? More rum and dt. coke!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I bite.

You should message me if

I used to have a bunch of taboos listed here, but that's just not friendly.

I love talking to new people. Here's a hint, if the first thing you say to me is interesting (something other than "Hi" or "Hey" or "What are you wearing") there is a much better chance I'll respond.
