My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Does life look good to you? It does to me.

House, check. Car, check. Gainfully employed, check. So what? Happy, yes! Single, yes!

Consider me a man who practices simplistic living while keeping the complexities at the office. Lasers don't design and build themselves.

I would much, much prefer interesting, rather than good, things happen to me. My experience is that I grow more in these situations.

A concise list of qualities (me? you? both of us?) ....
Reliable, communicative, hardworking, humorous, humble, emotionally mature, loyal, active, fully engaged in life, honest, intelligent/smart/educated (yes they are different).

ESFJ. Extra saucy fanatical joker. Right?

Perhaps a whiff of negativity to balance my optimistic pragmatism is in order? Scent for the day is proper spelling and grammar. Before we know it, our Constitution will be rewritten and start with "We The Ppl of the usa, LoL, in order ...."
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Personally ...
Living by the KISS principle (keep it simple stupid), staying in the moment, and finding ways to contribute to society. Keeping healthy physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Professionally ...
Thankfully, I do what I do because I love it, and in fact I wrote a book on it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
.. fixing inanimate things, recently the "unique" qualities of a 50 year old house.

... being a morning person. Annoyingly to many, I'm the type who almost literally springs out of bed before the sun comes up most days.

... telling the truth and being a good friend.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I am??? Maybe they want some green eggs and ham ....

About every other month I get a comment such as "you look just like (fill in the blank) from (fill in the blank). Are you from (fill in the blank)?"

If you appreciate the brilliance of Top Gear UK and that it could be the most ambitious - but rubbish - show ... in the world ... that would kick some serious Larsen Biscuits.

- Anything where Gordon Ramsey is being his "passionate" self
- NESN during NHL season
- Fox News for comic relief
- The Weather Channel forecast when I want to know what it feels like to be told a bold face lie

Books - Clive Cussler to pass the flights quickly. Scientific journal papers in my field to fuel new ideas, since I realized long ago I don't have all of the answers. The Four Agreements is also a book of useful, universal truths.

I grew up 60 miles from the Mexican border, so guess who's going to try the chimichanga every time? Almost everything is fair game to me, especially if I make it. I cook because I like the taste of my food, and very often others do too.

World news is important. I can't exist in the vacuum of space, so taking care of "home" matters.

A tweaked (not tweeked) Paul Oakenfold Pandora station keeps my internal beat going. Some occasional classical (pre- this Millenia) trance works well too.

Favorite quote: "Whenever there is any doubt, there is no doubt."
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The Intangibles ...
Spirituality (note - not religion)

The Tangibles ...
Manual transmissions
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
... being in the moment. Yeah.

... why all female voices on GPS aren't named Amy. Think about it. Say it slooowwwwwly.

... how wealth and power are so overrated. Case in point: a global survey done years ago and found that some of the poor areas in India had the happiest people. Additionally, I think Sweden, with the exorbitant taxes, also has very happy people. You won't catch me judging anyone about what they have. What's important to me is who you are.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
... hopefully not working!

Who am I kidding? I usually enjoy my favorite pasttime ... seeing how fast I can start and stop my stopwatch for hours on end. Yep.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
... thankfully, I have no secrets. Seriously. They keep me sick. However, I'm not going to broadcast my whole life online.

.... although I am quite automonous, and there is no substitute for family, spending the holidays without someone special is getting ... old. It is highlighting the difference between being lonely and being alone.

... you would choose the red pill.

... you've faced your demons, did your 40 nights in the desert, however you want to put it, you did it.

... I've chosen to "like you" on here. I don't give out stars for incompatibility with me.

... it pains me to feel this needs to be specifically listed, but please have a positive outlook on life and know how to communicate without constant pessimism.

Oh! I almost forgot (to mention) my name is Robert.
