Music: Pink Floyd, Supertramp, and, well, actually just about all
classic rock. I listen to Q107 here on the radio. They play a
pretty good selection of songs I like. I like the Blues, Bon Jovi,
Deep Purple, Page, Plant and friends. Alice Cooper, Chris Issac,
Chris Rea, The Box, The Clash, and similar musicians to all listed
above here. I also like listening to "Remember the 80's"
on the cable channel. Lot of good songs there and very few I don't
like. There are a lot of songs I have heard that I liked, but have
no idea who performed it, or even the name of the song.
I also like "My Own Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode. I
heard it on Slacker radio, which I have a subscription to. There
are a few songs I like that aren't what you would call Classic
I am willing to listen to any music. I like or dislike
songs based on the song. Not the artist, or style of music. I am
very open-minded about this.
I am what I like to call a "Professional Music
Appreciator". No, I don't get paid for it, but I almost always
have some music to listen to.
I recently heard "Things I Do For Money" by the Northern
Pikes.. I turned the stereo up quite loud. Great tune!
Movies: Inception (most anything with Di Capreo), The Italian Job
(both versions)... most movies by the people who were in that
movie. Most of Bruce Willis' stuff. Christopher Nolen stuff, Ridley
Scott, James Cameron, and most of the big name, successful
directors and actors. Star Trek, Star Wars, Dusk to Dawn, Over the
Hedge (what a gas!), Flushed Away (I really love that
one), and finally, The Fifth Element. That is my
go-to DVD when I want to watch a DVD but can't figure out what to
want. That and Armageddon, or Pinky & the
De Nero, Pacino, Brando, Val Kilmer, movies by directors
whose movies score *really* big at the box office.
Again, I am willing to judge each movie on it's own
TV shows: Big Bang Theory, Motive, programs
that I like when I watch them, and a lot of stuff that isn't
on anymore. I love animated shows and own rather more than a
couple of them. I like or dislike based on the show
Books: I will read almost any tale of fiction and
non-fiction. I like fantasy and post-apocalypse as well as
science fiction of many sub-genres. Drama, horror... well... almost
anything if I am in a reading mood. I have read "Understanding
Human Sexuality" from cover to cover and it's a
Stuff by Koontz, Clive Cussler, Tom Clancy. Dale Brown...
good exciting stuff there. Steven King (of course), the
guy who wrote "Swan Song" (I am in the process of
rearranging my room, and can't find my books, could be Patterson
And last, but not least... I usually decide whether or not I
like a book after I have been reading it for a while.
