My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I might describe myself as a traveler, seeker, wanderer, experimenter, growth-mindset autodidact. Others know me as a photographer, videographer, INFP, RPCV, soldier of peace. I'm a lone wolf but tribal by nature, which mears I enjoy my independence but I'm fiercely loyal to my close friends. Serving in the Peace Corps in Namibia and the Philippines has changed my life. I spent a couple amazing summers in rural Bolivia on a video documentation project. I've gotten lost in the Himalayas on purpose and loved every minute of it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Stumbling my way towards greater understanding of myself and others. Every day is a new beginning. In less philosophical terms, I'm trying to figure out how to start a photo / video business and reacquainting myself with the mountains after spending a year in New Orleans. In short, my goal in life is to witness the full range of human experience and emotion so I can share it with the world.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Acknowledging, honoring, and sharing what I find beautiful in life. Living out of a backpack. Talking to strangers from different continents. Following tangential ideas toward misadventures. Pursuing college degrees that never amount to anything. Breaking expensive camera gear. Intentionally creating problems for myself to solve so that I learn. Trying to live each day just a little better than the last, and forgiving myself when I don't.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My real name is a tree, a source of water, and an animal. And I'll add the last thing people usually notice just for kicks, technically I'm a quarter Mexican.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My camera, passport, and skateboard. Drive, purpose, and friends. If I were to sum it up in one word: curiosity.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Physical, mental, and spiritual awareness. Light, shadows, and color. Our human imperfections and the need to embrace that. This quote by Immanuel Kant, "Out of the crooked timber of humanity, no straight thing was ever made."
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I might be shooting a show, doing some astrophotography, or working on a photo album. I prefer the company of close friends and the wildness of nature to the random city scene. That being said, I still like to go out every now and then.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm still actively trying to figure out life and myself. I like a person who is not afraid of uncertainty or ambiguity. Dealing with adversity adds depth, humility, and wisdom to who you are. Our public images and need for validation can be so superficial that it's like a breath of fresh air to be able to be open and vulnerable with someone.

Sometimes I can be a little too serious but I definitely have a lighter side if you get me warmed up. I've also noticed I tend to be extroverted professionally but introverted socially.
